There are some combo deals with 1 unlimited and 1 or 2 blocks.

wanted to know if independent provider block deals are being cataloged anywhere?

so my question is pretty clear. Im looking for the cheapest usenet provider. so when Black Friday is coming up I can have a look if they offer a pretty nice deal.

I have no problem, if this provider does not provider 6000 days of retention or only 10 connections or maximum 50 mbit speeds (my server running anyway around the clock).

cheapest what I found was UseNight with their current Black Friday Offer. Is there anything cheaper out there?

UseNight

25% off €14.96/year €8.21/ 6 months, €1.49/1 month

Backbone: Abavia

Connections: 50

Retention: 3300 Days

Server: EU

Takedown: NTD

Im new to usenet and decided to jump in with blackfriday deals. I just jumped in with newshosting as a provider. went with nzbgeek for an indexer since they have a 3 day trial

why do i need newshosting if there nzbgeek that i can search for everything on? what does newshosting provide? am i supposed to connect the 2 somehow?

im confused, my understanding was that i needed geek to index newshosting but now it seems nzbgeek has everything?

also what role does hydra play if sabz gets me what i need? is it similar to prowlarr?

I wanted to try and use Eweka's current deal of 15 months for 2.50€ per month to add time to my existing subscription. This seemed to be possible: After I entered my account's e-mail address on the deal form, it recognized the known address and offered a new link to "take advantage of the deal". On the new site I got a checkout form for 37.50€ for 15 months using my existing payment method. So everything looked fine to me.

After I accepted this, I checked my payment provider but there was 59.88€ deducted instead of 37.50€. I then checked my Eweka account and saw that time was added to my subscription, but only 12 months instead of 15. This appears to be the old/standard terms for my current subscription which was 4.99€ for 12 months. Obviously, this is not what I wanted and this was never indicated to me during the checkout process.

I wrote to their support and am now waiting for a response. If anything noteworthy happens, I will update here.

Please be advised: If you try to use the current Eweka deal with an existing account and subscription, it seems to me at this time that it may not work as intended and you may get charged at different terms than you intended.

Edit 1: Oh cool, this thread got unlocked. It was locked and hidden shortly after I originally created it. Then I will keep updating. Eweka support replied that they forwarded the case to their billing specialist and I'm to get an update within a few business days.

I've ticketed support repeatedly but they have been no help. The search functions worked well until recently when there were problems detailed on another thread. The problems have not been solved for me.

https://members.easynews.com/1.0/global5/index.html

Using this search if I check the pars box then it always returns 0 results. Also no matter how I set preferences it removes duplicates whether I want it to or not.

It's a shame as it used to work well.

I'm debating if it's worth learning and making the switch especially with potential sales coming up. Thank you

I used to use usenet like 15 years ago. Just got back into it. I have an unlimited data plan from my ISP but I usually average 800gb - 1tb a month. 9 days into November and I am over 1tb. Will an ISP flag a significant increase in downloads, or do they not care since my plan is unlimited?

Has anyone else noticed that ubiquiti's DNS Shield (when set to auto), blocks news.newshosting.com?

I've been having issues for the past week, disabled the DNS Shield today and everything works fine again.

Anyone have any tips for how to have DNS Shield enabled and still enjoy the fruits from newshosting?

Can you please recommend some good providers that accept crypto? Currently I have Newsgroupdirect (Usenet express backbone) so I'm probably looking for a Omicron-based provider to complement NGD. Preferably with EU servers.

Original Title: Are these counts normal for indexer queries? I thought RSS feed was something like once a day it gets a report of new files , cross checks Wanted list and grabs so why is it so high? If looking for more indexers trying to figure out what monthly API limit I should buy.

So recently I took advantage of the BF deal on Newshosting and bought the 15 month deal for $25.05. I wanted to stack it, but it gave an error. When I tried to stack it again, it charged me $50.10 instead of $25.05 even though the payment page said $25.05.

I contacted their support and they asked me whether I want a refund of the additional payments or for them to extend time. I said to extend time, so they told me my new renewal date was 05/08/2025, when the original renewal date after taking the BF deal after one payment was 02/08/2026. I have sent them the 3 invoices, asked them to clarify and change it but no response. Crickets. I am not sure if it's the weekend or they are just ignoring me now. Not sure if I should open another ticket, initiate a chargeback or just wait, so any insight into this would be helpful please!

Also, I emailed Newsgroup Ninja, hoping to use their 7 day money back guarantee to cancel the plan I had recently taken. Again, crickets. Not even one response.

It's really kind of making me super nervous around these providers.

I'm new to the space and this is my first BF deal hunting. I am wondering if some experienced people can give me advice on when to start pulling trigger on BF deals. I am not looking to splurge much but just get 1 indexer + 1 provider. (I usually grab content infrequently so need something thats there incase I need it)

As an example, should I pull the trigger already on $1.99 newshosting deal or wait till BF

TIA!

I never got any reminder emails about my upcoming due date until receiving many on that date.

I immediately paid it and have seen it went through on my card.

My account says paid with the new due date. then that night my account was suspended.

I have sent many support tickets with no reply. But this seems to be the norm.

Any Ideas?

We have had some requests to create a mailing/notification system for those who want to know about the Black Friday deals we will be offering this year. Some people are not on Reddit very often and do not want to miss the deals.

As I said over on the official Black Friday post, similar to previous years, we will be offering seven deals that each run for a limited time each on Black Friday. We will also allow one or two of those deals to run through the Cyber Monday event as well.

If you are interested in getting notifications from us regarding our deals, submit your email through this link: https://www.newsdemon.com/notifyme

We will try to give those folks who sign up to this email list a special deal on Black Friday!

Alternatively, you can simply wait for the deals to be posted here on Reddit.

Trying to figure out how the NSPs stay in business. Bandwidth costs money, servers cost money. Especially those that offer unlimited accounts and frequently discount them. That's terabytes of data for not very much money. Granted, it's been a few years since I ran a local usenet server, but things can't have gotten that much cheaper.

These two indexer I've never seen before despite frequenting this sub for years. Any thoughts on how they compare to Newsninja, DS, Finder and Geek?

Hello,

Having used usenet for decades, Im hoping to use this year to build up my repository of either lifetime providers, hopefully at a blackfriday deal pricing. Or cheap yearly pricing

The only "yearly" one I am subscribed to is Dog and the greentext one that shall not be named.

I do have a lifetime sub to geek and one more, but wondering which other ones these days offer lifetime subs?

DS at nearly $25 (15 euros) for the bottom tier just isnt justifiable. I have their "free" account, and I guess its good enough.

NzbFinder I'd love to try, but they have paywalled their XXX access so can't even "try" out their stuff fully before commiting, and even then, at $15USD/year, it's way more expensive than both dog and the greentext one that shall not be named. Especially when taking into account dog offers massive promotions (buy 3 get 1). I think I'm subscribed to dog until like 2030. Comparing the price uplift to the greentextone, considering the greentext one is one of the OG ones. I don't think I can justify that without "trying" and their XXX is paywalled. Their BF deal is only 15% off, not remotely enticing.

Just wondering which ones are affordable, and hopefully actually worth it? I kept hearing about nzbcat or nzbmonkey or something 5-6 years ago when I last was looking but dont think those guys opened up the invites.

Would appreciate some input on which (if any) to signup for.
