This was the most promising start of a Spider-Man title in decades in my opinion. Hickman and Chechetto have started something special. If it stays this way it will go down as one of the all-time great runs. Relatable Spider-Man is back.

What do we think? Numbers 14, 13, 6, and 3 were the ones I played when I was younger. Fun memories! I imagine many others are enjoying the newer games.

I'm not sure if I have to set spoilers for Into The Spider-Verse, but I will just in case. I do so on the servers I'm in, in case there are people there who haven't. I can't do anything about the title though. Ah well. Least I can do is spoiler the body.

Spoilers for Into The Spider-Verse

I've watched Into The Spider-Verse last month and it was a great film. One of the best examples of "style is substance" I've seen, was overall a fun film to watch. That said, the movie's version of Sp//dr was my favourite character, design-wise. The spider anatomy, screen-face and the simplistic but expressive emotions on said face all made the character one of my favourite designs, especially for robot characters. It sounds dumb and sappy, but I was pretty sad when it got destroyed near the end of the film (yes, even when Peni was able to rebuild it).

I wanted to see if there was any more interest, and before the Reddit exodus I checked the Spider-Man subreddit to see if there was similar appreciation, but it seems like most of the subreddit liked the comic designs better. Seems to be because of it being a more conventional mecha design than ITSV's Sp//dr. I don't mind the comic design but I dunno, ITSV's is way more interesting IMO.

Wondering what people on the fediverse think.

Scarlet Spider has arrived! A childhood favorite from the 90s. Cool to see him in the new Spider-Verse movie as well. Anyone else get him?

The source is from an animator for the movie. Apparently, it was an animation test to show the movement for dimension 42 Miles and Prowler.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. It had a lot of references to older comics and films. Unfortunately, the audio issue that apparently affected the initial release impacted our viewing experience. Otherwise, solid B+ or A-. I put it above any of the MCU Spidey films.

spoiler

It seems like this Miles-42 is open about being the Prowler since he doesn't hide his designs from his mom. We also know that the spiders bite beings that are "good". If the spider was going to bite Miles-42 then that means we might see a team up of these two instead of a fight.

...or he might blame Miles-1610 like Miguel did 💀
