Getting a Tab S8+ soon for school. Just wanted to know if the Tab S9+ accessories are backwards compatible. Can I use the Tab S9+ book cover keyboard on the S8+? And will the new S-Pen work with the S8+ if I need to replace it in the future?

Who is minding the store at Samsung? It seems as if Samsung is just going through the motions.

I just purchased a Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, with a trade-in. Today, Friday, August 18, it was shipped. When I received the shipping notice, I also received the trade-in return authorization shipping label. This is a quote off of this label: "Visit samsung.cm/us/trade-in to watch a video on how to complete your trade-in "successfully." There is no video. I know this is ridiculously minor that I mentioned this, but how could such a thing occur? Is anybody doing the job anymore, anywhere? Is everybody just going through the motions? Where is the personal responsibility? I would stick my life on this sentence will remain for years on shipping labels.

Hi, does anyone know how the feature Call and text on other devices work in the background? I would expect that on WiFi, all function similarly to Apple devices, with local communication and no data through servers. But according to the privacy policy, it seems all data go via Samsung's cloud.

Galaxy Watch connection uses Google Cloud Sync, which should be end-to-end encrypted, so private even via a mobile network.

Ever since the first flip came out, I've dreamed of one, but never got around to it because of all the screen issues. Ive got a very decent phone now, I bought around Christmas, so I dont "have" to switch, but I got a really good deal on the Flip4. I really can't decide if I should go for it.

Alright so I'm not a fitness nut, but for my job I walk about 25'000 steps with 15lbs backpack. I am 20 male, 5 foot 11 and 155 pounds. I have been at this steady weight for just over a year. Even before this job when I rarely got in 6000 steps.

Now this app is recommending I take in just under 1800 calories a day... 2-3 times a week my dinner is more than that. I normally consume 2800- 3800 calories a day.

Now with all this in mind, steady weight even with sub 6k steps for 8 months, and 25K steps for 4 months.

Where does it get off recommending me such a small amount?

I might be in the running for the worst Samsung customer service experience for this launch period.

I would love help, but it seems my situation is beyond repair. At this point I guess I'll just settle for some Fs in the chat.

On announcement day, I went big. Preordered a Black Z Fold 5, Watch 6, and Tab S9+ on the website and traded in my Z Fold 3.

The next day, I thought "damn, that exclusive gray is pretty slick, maybe I can change to it..."

I messages Sammy chat who told me "no problem, just place a second order with the stuff you want." So I did while continuing the chat. The order totals were not the same so the rep told me he would resolve it at a later date and cancel the original order.

Nothing was fixed or cancelled.

Launch day, both orders show up at my door. I decide to return the original order even though it's gonna cost me an extra 100$ for the grey. Fine.

I send back the original order, and send in my trade in. Trade in email includes no details about which order it's tied to, but based on timing and all the other emails I make an educated guess. I was wrong. I sent my trade in on the cancelled order and now Samsung is going to cut me a cheque for 150$ and I'm not gonna get the 850 trade in credit. Super cool.

THEN two days after setting up my phone, I discover a hairline crack on the camera lens. I haven't dropped it, placed it down hard, etc. It's barely left the house. Samsung says it's physical damage even though the frame, and camera housing have zero signs of wear.

TL;DR

  • Paid an extra 1000$+
  • Phone is broken on day 1
  • Hours wasted talking to Samsung CS
  • Countless escalations ghosted after promising a response in 3-5 business days

Samsung's really making it hard to be a fanboy and has at every point made me feel like garbage for giving them $3000 (now $4000)

🥲

But not a bixby button, acts just like the power button but fully remapable, you can set a single press, double press, press and hold, so it could launch an app, turn on flashlight, activate bixby if you want.

A.K.A I just want another button for quickly activating stuff.

Long story short, I've been dealing with some battery and charging issues with my S21+. I've cleaned out my charging port but there's something wrong and it often doesn't recognize it being plugged in.

I can deal with this for a bit, albeit annoying. I've been tempted to upgrade to an s23+, but it doesn't seem like there is that much of a jump from the s21 to the s23.

As of now, with a trade in, I can get an s23+ for about 500 USD. The things I care most about are battery, camera, sound. Don't really game or anything on my phone.

Is there enough of a difference between the s21+ and s23+ to justify an upgrade for 500, or should I just hold off?

Eg. Say you have a flat, rectangular cut-out of plexiglass. We all know it's easy to bend and wobble along the flat side. Why is so much more force required to bend along the thin edge?

She loves science, I love science, but I can't find a way to break this question down.

Thank you anybody in advance!

I’m sure we all remember the “Murder Hornet” media hype in 2020 and 2021. That never seemed to amount to anything. It seemed like the media was just jumping on a story they could scare people with to get more attention and make money. But why was it that the Asian giant hornets were never able to make it in America?

Edit: I have gotten a few great answers. The gist if it is:

1: There was a great “eradication” program.

2: They can only spread so fast, and it’s at a pace much slower than I expected.

3: They are only well suited to thrive in coastal mountain areas, which includes a large but relatively small section of the west coast. They never had the potential to take over the US.

More can be read in the answers

Hello Guys, I just purchased the S94bd, because I can't find any s95b in stock around my area.

I saw a comment stating that the S94bd comes with firmware updae which makes it less bright. Just wanted to see if that's true?

I was torn between s95b and LG C2, so just pulled the triegger on S94bd (same as 95B)

Thank you!

I got a used Samsung Sm t530 from a family member and this thing will not connect to Google play. I gett a "Error No connection" message. I tried every piece of advice I could find on the internet and in the end called a samsung repair place. They had me try to do a software update and when the tab said it's unable to update they explained that it just no longer supports Google play and I won't be able to download anything from there. It connects to the internet, I can watch YouTube and "Galaxy store" works too but it's crap - I tried to find Reddit and it offered me Quran reading apps instead(?!) but I can, for instance, download and play Homescapes. I have an older and much cheap lenovo tablet that still connects to Google play without an issue so this just doesn't make sense to me. Is samsung really so crappy that they block their customers from accessing Google play?

Title pretty much says it all. I am able to get $600 for my current Tab S8+ 512GB with 16GB RAM and am considering picking up the Tab S9 256GB with 12GB RAM. Samsung's site has the Tab S8+ at $500 if traded towards the Tab S9, so I could get $100 more if I sell it.

I've enjoyed my Tab S8+ lots but I think the size is just a little too big for me and have liked what I've seen from the Tab S9 so far, but would the value be worth it for roughly $300 for the upgrade considering I'm losing some storage and RAM with the new Tab?

So when I got my s9 ultra tab I copied my phone settings over to the tab. I experience that sometimes when using multiple apps together it is abit laggy Does that have to with anything that I copied my phone settings which transferred some apps and whatnot. Also I will admit that I have visited countless of, less holy websites which been saved on the phone...for research purpose of course. Was it misstake to copy from phone perhaps?

Its been almost exactly a year with my s22 switching over from the apple ecosystem for the first time.

This phone is markedly worse than the iphone 13 mini in almost all practical applications. Battery is terrible (6-7hrs tops, 12-18 standby)

Storage claims to use 110 of my 128 gb even though i have about 15gb total of storage used in my device manager

When the ac in my car broke i literally couldnt use the phone as it would overheat to the point where id have to hold it out the window while driving simply to cool it down enough to load google maps.

Snapchat and instagram were rendered useless with horrible refresh times and laggy frame rates with stories and camera lag. I have since deletes both apps as they have been so frustrating.

I originally purchased the phone for work since my boss encouraged me to make the switch for software reasons, but in my experience our work software works just as well on ios.

Really struggling to see any upsides on this phone and im planning on paying it off and trading back in september for new generation of iphones.

Never had an interest in complaining about samsung or android os or hating on anyones preferences, but after switching, it really does seem like the non-apple train members are on that train simply because they are contrarians. Sure the software is more maluable and some of the UI stuff is more adaptable based on personal preferenfes but that is such a miniscule part of the phone. The OS is trash and buggy and so much less refined im not sure how any of these phone are still getying bought.

This has always been an issue but it's still occurring even after the newest OneUI update. Whenever I do things like swipe up to go home, unlock the phone or expand a PIP window there seems to be stuttering going on. This isn't limited to the latter examples either. Anything with an animation attached to it seems to stutter every so often. It's usually only a one time thing and goes away after the initial stuttering, but it's pretty jarring when it happens and at this point I'm finding it hard to justify why a $1K+ phone is having these problems at all. I've seen users claim that OneUI 5.X is much more fluid and responsive than previous versions and if that's the case then I don't want to know what the previous versions were like in this regard.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there any possible fix for it? I'm currently downloading the OneUI 6 beta to see if there's any improvements in this regard.

I just got a z flip 5 and are currently staying at a hotel. It needs me to connect to wifi, which i can do, but the hotel wifi needs you to sign in. Is there a way to get around this, as it wont let me sign in on the setup page...

The last few days my alarm has not been working properly. When my alarm goes off it just beeps one time. I went into my alarm settings and toggled my alarms on and off thinking that might fix it but it didn't. When I try to choose a ringtone sound for my alarm it says "unable to play during a call" but I'm not in a phone call. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know how to fix it? I can restart my phone and it fixes it but then it does it again, don't know what's causing it and don't know how to fix it. Anyone know how to fix it or what's going on? My alarm didn't go off this morning and it made me late for work. Need help ASAP.

ETA: I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

For people who've used both, are there any noticeable improvements? Both in terms of the keyboard and the trackpad.

I FOMOed on the Tab S9 pre order with the keyboard cover, currently own the Tab S7+ but never shelled out on the keyboard cover.

Although the S7+ won't get updates, it's kinda perfect because of that super efficient SD 865, 8GB RAM and 5G connectivity. I'm torn because the Tab S9+ is too expensive, and I'd love a smaller display, but the Tab S7+ is genuinely an amazing piece of art.

Just wondering if I should purchase the keyboard cover for the Tab S7+ as well and see how that goes, and if it's good then return the S9 package? Or S9 all the way (given 4 years updates, 8 Gen 2, 12GB RAM)?

Super conflicted rn lol, would appreciate some advice.
