Happened a couple of days ago but when my cat wouldn't stop bothering me outside my bedroom door (doesn't usually happen) and I opened it I saw someone peeking over the banister railing at the top of the stairs, I looked at them and the ducked back down. Fun times

My sister was born at a small hospital in a small town in Ontario, Canada. We are 5 years apart so I was a kindergartener at the time. My grandma and I drove to the hospital to meet my sister and see my parents when they were ready, and I have a clear memory of looking out the hospital window (second story) in broad daylight and seeing a monkey casually walking down the street. It seemed like a really big chimp.

I still remembered it some years later and asked my parents about it and they said I kept repeating that I saw a monkey, but they thought I was just goofing around/ trying to get attention because I was maybe a little jealous of my newborn sister.

I can still remember it pretty clearly (now in my 30’s) and I have no idea what the logical explanation for a really big chimp walking down the street all alone in a little town in Ontario in the 90’s would be, but I saw what I saw. I would love to hear any theories of what this might have been.

I want to start this off by saying that I was born and raised in Appalachia and I am very open to the paranormal. I have had several experiences in my life but this one has kept me wondering what it could have been for almost the past 24 hours.

Yesterday around noon I was with my husband in the woods of Appalachia. He was fishing at the lake and I sat about 10 ft back in the tree line to have a little more protection from the wind so I could read a book. Occasionally I would stop reading whenever I heard rustling or birds because I also like to birdwatch. I looked around with my binoculars only to never really see anything.

Then I started hearing sounds of a woman humming a song. It sounded like she was very close to me but there were no sounds of the leaves rustling on the ground from someone walking by us on the path. At first I looked around just to make sure I wasn’t in someone’s way but that’s when I realized I wasn’t hearing footsteps. I started to look in my binoculars but I got too scared. Luckily at that point my husband decided to pack it in because the lake seemed to be fished out. As I was gathering my stuff the humming sounded like it was getting closer and I could feel eyes on me. I’ve never walked so fast out of the woods in my life.

When we got back to the car I told my husband about it but he didn’t hear the humming. He’s also very skeptical of the paranormal and tries to explain it away. All of this to say, does anyone have an idea of what this could have been?

So I’m 45 now. I was thinking about this randomly and was bored and decided to ask if anyone had an experience with the board. Real experience. I’m actually afraid to talk about it. I was 12 when I first started using one by myself. It started moving just fine. I became obsessed with it and used it regularly for about a year and a half. There was a name. When I asked to I was talking to. Bobby Maholovich. I’m not sure of the spelling of his last name so I don’t know. All I know is I’m afraid to talk about it because I did it by myself for a few years and I can still remember that it was moving on its own. I would even try and trick it sometimes and and left my fingers off the planchette and it would continue to move for about an inch before stopping. One time it even levitated while I was using it with my brother and friend. You could feel the pressure of the plastic pushing on our fingers upward and we pulled away when it got to be a few inches in the air. But I’m mostly concerned with my own experiences and using it by myself. I mean, I used to come home from school and just hop on the board like no big deal. No one told me it was fake or demonic. I just thought it worked. It felt creepy but natural at the same time. What I’m telling you is the truth. I saw, felt, it move. I talked to this thing for hours. I was old enough to know if it was fake or bogus. I see a lot of ppl telling stories about the board but I don’t believe them because if you really had used one the way I did you wouldn’t want to talk about it. Until now anyway. Anything else out there do this? Bobby Moholivich ?

Yesterday my fiance and I went and visited an abandoned psych ward and did a day tour. We had our 11 month old baby with us and he’s very quiet while being held.

We got in there and the first room we went into was the presence of a young girl supposedly. Well my baby wouldn’t stop laughing the whole time we were in there, he kept looking down and saying “uh oh” and I just thought it was a coincidence.

Then we were down in the basement and my hair was pulled! Yes pulled! After that, I believed in something because that was crazy.

When we went to leave, we could smell food cooking from a few rooms, the bathroom smelled like someone farted or was pooping. Mind you the place has been closed down for 14 years now…

UPDATE: I was simply just trying to share my experience and some people are more concerned that I brought my baby with when it was a day tour and babies are allowed!

When I was young I was riding my bike along the sea front with my mum walking behind me. I’d only just learnt to ride without stabilisers. I lost control of my bike and the front wheel went over the edge. I tried to pull my wheel back up but I wasn’t strong enough and I couldn’t keep myself up any longer so I had to make the decision to let myself go over. I felt at peace with the decision strangely. I blacked out. When I woke up I was looking at the sky and I had a man’s coat over me. Apparently after I’d fallen a man had either seen it or had come afterwards and he took his coat off to lay over me and then drove to my house to get my dad while my mum stayed with me. There was an ambulance there and I went to the hospital to get checked over. I was completely fine. The only thing wrong was a fat lip from where I’d landed face first.

Now my question is do you think I was just extremely lucky or do you think there was something keeping me safe? Like the fact I felt this peace before I fell makes me wonder.

I never really been too big in believing in ghost and such, but after watching ghost hunter shows with my girlfriend we thought it'd be a fun activity to try out together. She's a big believer and if I am gonna go I want to bring nice equipment and give myself the best chance to experience something paranormal.

My question is IF I do spot something can it follow me home? I don't want my life to turn into a conjuring movie and that scares me.

For the last couple of months, every week or so I have dreams of seeing my ex-friend. We were childhood friends.

We left on heartbroken terms as teens.. We tried to reunite but they used me as inspiration to make fun of me for no reason via very public social media comic while pretending to be nice to me irl and I didn't find out until later... I cannot even look them up online without going into existential crisis. So I literally cannot look them up to confirm this until I go to therapy or something

In these dreams I am very lucid. In first one they told me they wish we reconciled our friendship-- I 'knew' that they couldn't be there... it was weird. It didn't seem like a dream but a visitation? Unlike previous dreams I've had of them these dreams are very calm/just talking rather than dramatic retelling of how we broke up.

These dreams just keep continuing and we're talking through our problems, and I'm telling them things I wish I told them. They apologized for being mean to me. They keep saying 'in life' it would have been better. And they cry to me a lot.

They had cancer but I was told it was cured-- so it's not impossible for them to die relativity young.

It's just strange. I haven't seen or thought of them in YEARS-- yet they popped into my brain. I really did my best to block them out and now it feels like their spirit found me.

Am I paranoid for thinking this might be supernatural?

____

EDIT: had partner check on their social media-- they haven't posted in more than a month and were a frequent poster. No posts about recent sickness but no posts indicating that they were taking a break either

🫠 don't even know how to take that. I am not in any of the same social circles. I don't remember their parents names.. I guess I'm in purgatory until I have my partner check in another month? I feel sort of disturbed and sick

Good evening everyone. I’d simply like to hear from some people that believe in, or have witnessed proof of anything paranormal. I’m not religious, I’ve never really had any sorts of beliefs on paranormal, or anything of the sort. I’ve always just had the idea that when we die, we’re in the ground or whatever, and that’s it.

That being said, my daughter’s father died a few days ago. I loved this man with every fiber in my being, my daughter was the definition of a daddy’s girl, and she changed life, she was the center of his world.

Idk if any of that matters, but who knows? Anyways, it’s been a long 4 days and I have googled a hundred different things relating to connecting with the dead in one way or another, because yes, I’m grieving.

My daughter is 3, and I don’t think she’s grasped what’s going on, she’s her same happy self, and we’ve read a bunch of age appropriate books about the subject, talked about daddy being dead, gone, no longer here. And she kind of says “oh daddy gone” really sad, and moves on to something else quickly.

Today, we were in his apartment where he died. I took my daughter to the park we all used to play at right after, and as I opened my car door to let her out, I swear I could smell his cologne, as is he was standing right next to me, it was so strong. And it has felt like he has been with us at some points, idk how to explain the feeling.

We went to another playground this evening, and shortly before we headed out, my daughter went screaming “Daddy ghost, Daddy ghost!” And then started running as if she was chasing someone, and yelled “Daddy ghost go down slide!!” And then made me go down the slide with her.

I didn’t even know she knew the word ghost, or what it meant (she’s autistic, and has Just started developing some speech.)

Anyways, idk, I guess I jest want/need to know if he’s here, in some way, with us. If it’s even a possibility. Or could I just be grieving, and losing a grip on reality? 😓

I have always been a staunch atheist and not a believer in the paranormal, but I saw something in Albania and can't get it out of my head. I'd like to start this off with a bit of a history lesson.

During the second world war, Albania was occupied by the Nazis. After the Second World War, Albania decided that the best way to fend off fascism in the future was to become communist and isolationist. They closed their borders in 1946 and declared themselves the world's first atheist nation in 1967. Religion was outlawed in 1967, and religious buildings were repurposed or destroyed. Previously, Albania was a mix of primarily Catholicism and Islam, and just because it is not legal does not mean a person will stop practicing their faith. Catholics were seen as a special threat due to a perceived loyalty to the Holy See over the State. Shkoder, a city in Northern Albania, housed a prison that held and tortured practitioners of Catholicism. Many people died there when they refused to give up fellow practitioners under extreme forms of torture.

This prison is now part of a museum called the Site of Witness and Memory. The first part details the events leading up to and following the outlawing of religion by Enver Hoxha, and the second part details what went on in the prison. At the end, you are permitted to walk into the prison and its cells. On the bottom floor, some cells display prominent people who were held there and resistance in the face of a concentration camp, others display anti-religious propaganda, and some tell stories of camp conditions and how information was shared throughout the camp. Most of the cells are empty, but you can walk inside them. Each measures about 5 feet by 5 feet. The last room is much larger. It is where the inmates were brought for questioning. The original desk, typewriter, and telephone are there, as well as a chair where the inmates would have sat.

There is a second story to the prison. I went upstairs to check it out, but all of the cells were empty. To be sure I didn't miss anything, I poked my head into each one as I made my way down the hallway. Once I was sure the cells were empty, I began to walk back to go downstairs. Out of the corner of my eye in one of the cells, I catch a black figure. I caught a surprising amount of detail for only catching a glance. It was about 5'6, emaciated and was standing head against the corner, hands on its face and facing away from me. Pure black, and with shadows spreading out away from it. At first I thought it was a cardboard cutout I had missed, so I took a couple steps back to check. The room was empty.

I was overtaken by a sense of pure fear. I wasn't in any danger but I don't think I was ever that scared before. I ran out of that museum, I'm sure I got a couple odd looks from security and other attendees.

I haven't been able to shake what I saw. I don't think I believe in the paranormal, but I also have no explanation as to what I saw. It looked and felt real. I came across this subreddit and thought you guys may have answers. Sorry for the long post and maybe the overexplained background.

Hi, 18f here. I try to keep it short.

I’ve noticed that most of the times I’m going to sleep I start to feel as if someone is playing with my hair or caressing it very slowly. It never hurts, it actually feels kinda nice and comforting. It doesn’t bother me but the first couple of times I got chills. This feeling is really clear.

And no, I don’t think it’s because of wind. Sometimes I fall asleep on the couch, sometimes in my own room, and this also happens when I live with my father. (My parents are divorced)

My grandmother passed away in December 2017. A few weeks before her death, she started seeing some mysterious figures. These figures were not visible to me or my parents. My grandmother said that these people were coming to take her away. She was afraid of them. She told my parents that she was scared of ‘Raam’. Does anyone know who these mysterious figures could be? My grandmother was a follower of Hinduism
