My 7600x is stable with pbo limits on auto and a moderate per core -CO. I'm just learning about ppt, tdc, edc - Seems to be the last bit in PBO I have yet to understand.

PBO limits on Motherboard profile: ppt is 162w, but hovers around 120. On auto: ppt is 142w, but gets up in the high 130s.

There's a manual option, but I've seen ppt 120, 84, 160; all over the place. I'm pretty lost on tdc and edc too, but I know they are related. One's a max, and the other is a boost max V?

It's perfectly stable on the auto option, and I'd like to set it manually, but the motherboard setting says it's above stock and it stinks!

What's the max PBO limits for 7600x + 650i chipset? I was thinking ppt 162, tdc 120, edc 140? Shot in the dark!

Also, does boost clock actually do anything? Negative or positive? I've been through four of these chips (long story) and the boost function either crashes the system, or seems to have no effect.

Original Title: What kind of results have you achieved with i5-13600K and DDR5? Currently sitting at 5.4Ghz and 1.26V (load) and I'm wondering if I should try pushing for 5.5Ghz. I'm also having hard time stabilising 6600Mhz RAM not to mention 6800Mhz and have settled for 6400Mhz.

Hey Reddit, looking for some advice on my next upgrade steps and would appreciate some simple explanations!

Here’s what I’m working with: I’ve got a hand-me-down AMD 7950X3D CPU and an ASRock X670E PG Lightning motherboard. For some strange reason, these two don’t seem to play well together. I had them tested individually at a local PC shop, and both passed a 24-hour benchmark test on their own, but when combined, they’re not compatible.

My plan is to use this build mainly for gaming with some light multitasking work (like Google Sheets and financial reports). I also plan to get a 5080 GPU when it’s released (currently using a 1080Ti), so I want my system to be ready for that upgrade. I’m not too experienced with overclocking, but I can follow guides if it’s a matter of copying BIOS settings.

Here are the upgrade options I’m considering:

  1. Upgrade the CPU to a 9800X3D (and maybe sell the 7950X3D) – I’d keep the current motherboard and sell the 7950X3D to recoup some money, as CPUs seem easier to sell. This would mean waiting for the 9800X3D release.
  2. Upgrade the motherboard – I could replace it with something like an ASRock X870E Nova (or any other recommended motherboard) and keep the 7950X3D. This could potentially fix the compatibility issue and future-proof things a bit more.
  3. Upgrade both – I could go all out and upgrade both the CPU and motherboard, though this might be overkill for my needs.

What would you guys suggest, and can you explain it to me in simple terms? Thanks!

Original Title: Ryzen 9 7950x3d + ASUS X670E Crosshair Hero + Corsair Dominator Titanium 6600Mhz. CPU undervolted (-20). Does everything look fine? I was using tutorial from youtube. I've been running a test for 10 minutes and Tdie temps don't rise above 71-72 degreses Celsius.

I have an 1650 and no matter how much I try to overclock it. It just doesn’t not work. I get the same FPS has I do without the overclocking and I don’t know how to use Msi Afterburner.

Anyone overclocked their 9800x3d yet? I saw a few YouTubers have already.

If so what were your results?

Hello there, Im not really good with hardware, I was just wondering if these values are good and normal for my 7800x3d or is there some tweaking to do, I have the bios on default settings since expo or a-xmp is not stable on this cheap mobo and bad system loading times.

I recently overclocked my rx 6600 from 2539mhz core and 1750mhz vram to 2900mhz core and 1900mhz vram with a 120w and 1.050. I got a 9% increase in average fps and a 37% increase in minimum fps. The temps are more than fin as you can see on the screenshot but i can't increase core or vram clock anymore in afterburner. Is there any way to go over this limit ?

Edit : sorry, hwinfo64 is in french.

I recently enabled AI Overclocking on my ASUS Z790 HERO motherboard, paired with an Intel i9-13900K processor. After turning on the AI Overclocking feature, I’ve started experiencing frequent blue screens, usually when I’m running more demanding tasks but sometimes even during regular usage.

I made sure to follow the steps correctly in BIOS and allowed the AI tuning to optimize the overclocking settings based on my hardware. However, the blue screens have been occurring pretty regularly, which has me wondering if something went wrong during the process or if there might be compatibility issues.

Has anyone had similar experiences with this setup or advice on how to make AI Overclocking more stable? Would manually tuning the settings help, or should I consider backing down on the overclock? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

I delided my i7 7700K and used liquid metal as the thermal compound. I overclocked to 5Ghz and have around 84°C in stress tests which is great. Very happy. It is in an NCASE M1 ITX.

I am just wondering why my idle temps sit around 50°C. I also have jumps to 60°C for a split second jumping back down immediately.

Before the delid the idle temps were about the same.

Should I just accept and move on with my life? :)

My previous i5 6600K sat at around 32°C idle with an overclock.

I have a Ryzen 5 7600x CPU. I did an overlock of -30 to the curve under pbo and got lower temps and better scores which I was happy with. Unfortunately, after logging in I often get a black screen and have to login again beffore it works. I heard somewhere that my oc can be the cause because while it is better at 100% usage, at low usage it now struggles to get enough power. I lowered it to -25 but the issues still isn't fixed which is a little disappointing. Do you guys think the oc is the issue (I've seen people fine with bellow -30)? If so, is there a way to give it more power at low usage to make up for this and keep the oc boost?

I have a 3 week old PC I built, everything was purchased locally from the Denver MicroCenter.

Had a stable 4.8Ghz overlock on the P-cores and 4.1 on the E-cores. Started running into stability issues and went back to stock clock speeds but still had stability issues. Micro center "completed diagnostics ... and have confirmed it needs a new processor".

What are my options 3 weeks from hardware purchase date? I think I am out of the MicroCenter warranty window and don't have the packaging, should I RMA it with Intel? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I've noticed that my CPU (Ryzen 5 3500x) has been performing pretty weird the last couple of months (never bothered looking into it until now). It hits 100% in situations when it really shouldn't (40-100 FPS in Fortnite with constant freezes and drops, GPU, 3070 Ti, barely breaks 30%). Had it for a couple years now so maybe the die is starting to degrade, though other than PBO I haven't overclocked it and I have an AIO that I've been using essentially since I got it.

I read that HWINFO64 can give some insight into what's happening, I assumed it might be thermal throttling but that absolute hottest it got was 77°C and no thermal throttle was reported (This is from when I was playing Helldivers 2, which always maxes out the CPU the entire time I'm playing). You can see that the Power Reporting Deviation is pretty wack and was wondering if this could be related? Any help/info is appreciated.
