Looking into the nexdock as an option for work on the go, currently i have a old dopesplay that i got for free and like the concept of a lapdock. Only concern with them is the trackpad on the dopesplay isnt the best. Im looking at either the nexdock as an option or the uperfect 15.6.

I use the dopesplay for IT work and its an easy fix for testing a computer without the need for monitors as i can just plug into it and control the computer itself. Curious if the nexdock feels more like a normal laptop with keyboard and trackpad. I am not a huge fan of palm rejection on these types of products but i can live with it. Curious if anyone can give some insight on the nexdocks daily use and any issues it may have.

Thanks for any info!

UPDATE:

For anyone needing info in future. Returned the dopesplay for the nexdock 360. Had a chance to use a coworkers uperfect and it was okay. For nexdock after about 30min of use can already tell the difference. Touchpad feels a lot more smooth than any others, as well as build quality feels much better. Keyboard also feels more like a laptop than the others as well. Overall if anyone is contemplating just go with NexDock

I bought a Nexdock 360 a couple of months ago after breaking the screen of my Note20 to recycle it as a portable PC, however I realized I can't use the wireless mode because the broken screen prevents me from pairing it via dex. Any suggestion on how to work around this limitation or am I forced to keep it tethered? And if the latter, any solution to keep phone and Nexdock tethered without the phone hanging from it randomly?

In order to make the power pass thru work for the redmagic, you need to have your nexdock set to NOT charge the host device

I just got my Nexdock yesterday and the screen is way more reflective than I anticipated, I can make up for it with brightness controls on USB C, but for whatever reason I can't change it on hdmi. Any suggestions or fixes for this issue?

Does the nexdock wireless have Bluetooth audio output support? As miracast routes my audio to the display, I will need to get audio back from the nexdock.

And if Bluetooth audio pairing is supported, what does the process look like on the nexdock?

I cannot get the touch screen to work on my Win 11 Pro PC.

Everything else seems to work. I'm using it to write this now. Keyboard, trackpad, miracast display, all seem fine. But touch screen just doesn't work at all.

Not my first rodeo, I googled the snot out of this and tried many of the options that come up when you search for something like this. I'll try and fend off the "did you try..." answers here.

  1. My device manager shows the "HID-compliant touchscreen" entry. I have disabled/re-enabled, deleted/reinstalled, and checked for all updates. The device 'looks' available.
  2. I have thoroughly checked for driver/windows updates.
  3. I have rebooted in-between all changes.
  4. I have changed bluetooth adapters (ensuring only one active at a time) and repositioned them for interference/range issues.
  5. In settings, "no pen or touch input is available for this display" (despite the touchscreen entry active in device manager). "Tablet PC settings" does not appear in settings either.
  6. I have run various system trouble shooters and file checkers like sfc /scannow and msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic and a couple 3rd-party checkers to verify my installation of win11 is completely fine.
  7. I have not installed any screen-protectors
  8. I have activated recommended related services that were set to manual start
  9. I have ensured my power options were not turning off bluetooth/usb/screens, etc.
  10. I have tried it connected by HDMI cable.
  11. The touch-screen works fine in Dex with my Samsung phone.
  12. *ETA Making the NexDock my primary/only monitor
  13. *ETA Checking control panel for the existence of "Tablet PC settings". Also tried manually running TabletPC.cpl from System32 folder but all I get is "Tablet and Pen settings is unavailable"

I would say after all of this it "feels like" there is a windows component missing, but no search has revealed anything else to try.

Am I missing something?

Hi there,

Bought a UPerfect UDock 15.6, after couple of uses, first Dex wouldn't connect. Then Dex started connecting but only with video. The dock's keyboard and trackpad would not work. In fact, not even the cursor appears. Any ideas what might be causing this? Many thanks in adv for all the help.

As the title says, my Galaxy Fold 4 when exiting dex mode is either the really long screen cover aspect ratio or the nearly square aspect ratio when open. Does anyone know a setting to match the output resolution or aspect ratio when not in dex mode?

Also, any way to get this thing to be portrait when plugged into a sammy phone?

Odd one this, not sure if its an issue or just doesn't work.

Picked up a ND Wireless and while I can see me using Miracast for quick things like checking email maybe sitting in an airport I don't plan on using it when sitting at a desk so will probably use USB-C most of the time but today I plugged my S23 Ultra in to a USB-C Hub as I wanted to copy some files.

Connected via the hub and then HDMI to Mini HDMI in the Nexdock and I can get display working fine.

I then can connect via BT to the Keyboard/Touchpad and that works fine but Touch screen never works even when connected to the phone, should it work ok?

Attempting to play my switch on my nexdock and using the switch charger to keep it powered. Only had it for about a week and the switch charger used to work just fine, it now does not charge the device at all and no other charger I use will charge the device either. Anyone know a fix for this or did my switch charger break the charging port somehow?

I've been looking for a solution to use a single cable with a desktop PC on my nexdock for a while and finally found a good one. This takes USB A 2.0 and DP in and outputs it over a USB C connection. It works with the USB and display on the Nexdock 360. It doesn't charge the Nexdock 360 since it won't take power in over the same port as USB/video, better portable screens can do that though.

Just opened my new nexdock 360 wireless and when it is in wireles mode the touch does not seem to work. It worked initialy but stopped for some reason. Anyone know a fix? This is on multiple devices and the touch still works when wired.

I use a Steam Deck with a NexDock Lap Dock and found that the NexDock can only output about 20w max to whatever device is connected, which isn't enough to charge the Steam Deck. So I'm looking for a way to charge and connect the Steam Deck at the same time without resorting to 3 different cables.

Ideally this would be done with a dock or hub that connects Deck>Hub>NexDock all with USB-C (the good thick cables that can do everything in the spec). Does something like this exist? I already have a wall brick that can charge both devices with a single brick, but I made a diagram to help explain it better

Nexdock 360 for sale: I purchased it 8 months ago to use with my Samsung phone/DEX. Sadly I’m not using it like I thought I would. It’s just sitting in my computer bag. It’s in good condition, everything works as it should. It’s has had a screen protector since I bought it. Asking $250.00 including shipping via USPS priority mail. Let me know if you would like it, we can work out payment and shipping. It’s boxed and ready to ship. There are a few accessories included.

I made a youtube video for your review. https://youtu.be/fXIiH6K0lWU

Simple question. Is it possible to use the nexdock 360 just as a Bluetooth keyboard? Flip the screen all the way around and just have the keyboard to type on a device through Bluetooth? To type when using a different monitor. Or does the keyboard turn off when the screen is flipped all the way around? Thank you.

Hey, I connected a Nintendo switch and it worked great, but when I switched my Nexdock 360 to "not charging" mode it stopped streaming the image from the switch to the screen. How can I resolve this?

Have an Intel Nuc8 connected to a Samsung Smart TV. Thought about using the NexDock as a second display. HDMI connect works perfectly.

But I thought it might be worthwhile to have touch input and so I connected the ND via the smartphone connection usb port to my thunderbolt 3 port. The picture is fine, the desktops extend to both monitors, but no matter what I do there is a persistent (infuriating) stutter in the system every 2-3 seconds that interrupts mouse movement, frames and the appearance of characters on screen when typing. If I connect only the NexDock the stutter persists, if I return to the Smart TV alone it goes away.

Any ideas? Tried playing with the screen refresh rates, starting in safe mode. I'm using the NexDock smartphone cable to connect to Thunderbolt, can't see how the cable is the problem.

So I have a very unique use case (though I've seen some people on this subreddit wanting to do the same). I'm one of those people that prefer a bed to a chair, and so I'd like to use my desktop pc but also have the portability of a laptop (I don't care about wires being everywhere)

So I got the uperfect 15 inch, and it's okay.. but now I'm wondering if the nexdock improves on it.. Here's a pros and cons list I jotted up:

PROS: -can be used on any device, I use it with my desktop, steam deck, switch, and consoles, amazing

-samsung dex is cool, I like that as a bonus, might consider wireless nexdock

-hdr looks really nice and might be worth the hassle, but at the same time it looks washed out without being able to configure brightness/contrast easily once you turn it on(can adjust colors in software but that's annoying)

-nice big screen (can also be a con but I prefer a big screen for gaming)

-keyboard is decent for gaming (might wanna setup bluetooth)

-has usb otg port (nice unique feature that surprisingly isn't standard, but might not actually need this as host device can use usb)

-I do really like having a touchscreen, don't think I can go back to not having that now

-since there's no internal gpu/cpu, runs very cool unlike my laptop (that I use mostly for watching videos)

CONS: -hdr can be washed out, colors take manual configuring in intel/nvidia

-bluetooth doesn't seem to work on desktop (can get a bluetooth reciever, or look into it)

-no keyboard backlight (but can angle screen to see keyboard at night, or use a bluetooth backlit keyboard)

-annoying light that indicates something near caps lock indicator, super annoing at night(can use electrical tape, or find out what indicators are and shut them off)

-no auto rotation when screen is flipped... might be a setting issue

-touchpad honestly kinda wonky, but I use a mouse most of the time anyway

-if you rotate the 360 screen with the keyboard facing downwards, it still registers the keyboard, is there no way around this other than finding a way to disable the keyboard through software?

So I was thinking of returning it and getting the nexdock instead, big con is waiting for it before the return window on this one wears out, I hear nexdock takes long to ship...

Apologies for the formatting..
