Recordings from 1990 found in the archives of the Real World Records which they released as an album “Chain of Light” on 20th September. Being a Nusrat fan this is nothing less than a festival for me. Sharing a short movie on the album:

There is a lot of songs that despite not being the best recorded or mixed, they are still great bodies of work. While there are many that I have found through my time that have mixing issues, I haven’t found a lot with badly recorded vocals done in less than ideal conditions. Whenever I do though, it fascinates me. Would love to hear some examples you guys have heard.

I was thinking of other income streams as a freelancer. I’m primarily a drummer but I was thinking about possibly learning and working as an audio editor once I get good enough to take on paid work. This is something I’m interested in.

I have experience editing my drum recordings on Logic, such as cutting, moving regions about, lining audio up to make everything sound smooth and using EQ, just as a beginner.

I’m interested in editing podcasts and possibly editing people’s music (but not as a producer).

However, as an absolute beginner, I don’t know anything about mixing and mastering (not too sure if I’d even need to learn and use them as an audio editor), and only know how to trim and adjust audio, so know very little about removing background noise for example, and using different plug-ins.

My other concern was AI. Audio editing is a job I’m sure AI would absolutely steal.

What do you reckon? Shall I learn audio editing as a beginner and then get paid work? Or shall I find another income stream?

It's a reasonably unknown band but I'd have to say Scott Brown and the Diplomats. After seeing hundreds of concerts I'd have to say that was the worst show ever. They didn't do anything horrible but just played an uninspiring set of only very lame generic covers (shit like Magic Carpet Ride) delivered with such a lack of polish it was offensive. I'm a guitarist and their guy is so bad he has no right to be on a stage but they acted like he was the star of the show. They named their band after a guitarist that has close to no musical ability.

Another that comes to mind was seeing Santana but I think I just caught a bad night. Los Lonely Boys opened for them and absolutely slayed so that didn't help Santana either. Carlos played well but yeah, just an off night I think.

What shows have you seen where you wished you hadn't gone after or perhaps caught a good act on a really bad night?

I’ve attached a set of images in the replies of this post.

The first two images are a message by Samantha Bennington, and the other three are the article quoting Susan Eubanks, Chester’s mother.

Now I know Samantha’s kinda crazy, but I think Samantha told Chester’s Mother, and Chester’s Mother got Sean Dowdell (Chester’s old bandmate from Grey Daze) and Mike Shinoda confused.

Isn’t it oddly similar to what Chester’s Mother accused Mike for?

I think Susan Eubanks got Sean and Mike mixed up.

Remember, do your research before trusting anything on the internet and spewing hate towards actual people.

Thank you so much for crossposting this.

Also a huge shoutout to u/Iheartrandomness for digging this lost media out, otherwise it wouldn’t have been posted.
