With the 2020 release, I took the classic C172 to a local grass field and flew straight to my home. I think I'll make it a tradition and do the same with this version 😁

I flew 12000 km in 56 hours with a Cessna 152 from Ceronado and just recently change to a Skymaster 2 at Gibraltar. It's amazing how beautiful the world is, even virtual!!!

C'est parti d'une idée folle lors d'un lunch code : un jet privé formamac et cela s'est concrétisé par un skin pour Microsoft Flight Simulator ✈️

Hello everyone!

Since this is the only bigger flight sim related community on Lemmy I thought my only chance was to ask the question here. Hope you don't mind the brief off-topic discussion. If you don't like it just delete it.

I like msfs 2020 for its graphics only and that's it. You can practise VFR flying skills there but I don't see the point in using it for anything else than that?

If you want a high fidelity model of an a320 or 737 go for FSX or p3dv5/6 and fslabs or PMDG respectively. It's a little bit unfortunate that those companies didn't release their products for msfs 2020.

Also if you want to learn flying and what it's actually about go for FSX. It has a huge flight school with a ton of literature and training material it's just so good. Topics like IFR are kind of well covered including VOR, ILS, Holding patterns etc. You actually learn the basics of IFR, what a VOR is, how does it work? how to tune the radios, what is an ADF? How and why does it work etc. But I guess you already know what I mean.

I miss all this stuff in msfs2020. Sure there are some very basic flight tutorials but nothing compared to FSX.

So I was wondering if FSX is the only flight sim out there that is offering an in depth flight school/ flight tutorials or are there some similar alternatives like add-ons or anything else for other sims? I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything so I guess there's none.

I'm learning to fly the g36 and King Air 350i after practicing a bit on the Cessna's 152 & 172. These new planes have the option to adjust propeller trim, but I don't know anything about that. How does the propeller's axis affect flight, and what information should I consider when adjusting them?

Has anyone had any experience with it? Does it work? What about things like VATSIM. Etc?

I saw a few reviews on YouTube and ended up impulse buying it last night. I’ve done a couple flights that I really enjoyed. I also blew up the engine several times trying to start it. Still gonna have to work on that lol but overall the quality of this plane is insanely good. It has a real chance to become one of my all time favorites I’m feeling already.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to post saying I’m happy to see this msfs community popped up on Lemmy. The one on Reddit has a wealth of content so I’m sad to leave it, but Lemmy is the future IMO.

I really hope the community here takes off without delay!

I got a discount because they only put the panels on one wing.
