After the Council of State refused the deactivation of a 4G antenna close to their land, however affecting the behavior of their animals, the farmers of the GAEC du Coupet, in the commune of Mazeyrat-d'Allier in Haute-Loire , have decided to cut off the antenna circuit breaker, without breaking anything, to finally have peace of mind.

Thursday August 18, the day after a decision by the Council of State rejecting the deactivation of a 4G antenna in Mazeyrat-d'Allier, the operators of the Gaec du Coupet decided to resolve things in their own way, quite simply by cutting the circuit breaker and therefore the power supply to the antenna located not far from their farm. According to them, this antenna is the cause of the deaths of nearly 50 cows and calves since its installation in July 2021.

On site, several people including Mayor Philippe Molherat were present in support and to observe if the condition of the cows changed when the antenna was deactivated, reported Le Progrès .

“A quarter of an hour after the power was cut, journalists and representatives of the agricultural federation were able to see that the cows all had their heads raised and were starting to drink again. It's not complicated to prove. We just cut the power, we didn't change anything else. There were 80 people there who were able to see the difference. The swallows have also returned. We didn't ask for much, just the shutdown of this antenna,” Frédéric Ségales, head of the operation, shared with Le Figaro .

Note that at the time, a generator had taken over, hence the wait of a quarter of an hour to see the first changes appear in the herd.

Disappointed with the decision of the Council of State, which for him does not mean the end of the dispute, Frédéric Ségales added: “They are not ready to put new branches in Haute-Loire” . In fact, “the meter was hidden under a pile of tires ,” he said, just to complicate the restart of the installation.

However, “if they come to put it back into operation, we will be forced to stop and lives will be sacrificed ,” he declared, because it will then be impossible to continue working in these conditions.
