Newport Bay Conservancy volunteers returning from the last king tide cleanup of the season.

Took advantage of todays 6.8 high tide giving access to clean otherwise inaccessible areas of the UNBR marsh. Sit on tops do have areas where they excel.

Scouting for endangered plants gave access to the closed section of the nature reserve. Light rain and cloud cover made for a pleasant work day. Sit on tops worked well getting on and off islands in the marsh. If only every commute was like this.

Greetings from the top of New York State on the Canadian border I'm normally out kayaking if it's nice out on the local rivers The St. Lawrence River can be a challenge due to its size and orientation with the prevailing winds Though it's made up for by the islands to explore Almost all my trips are streamed on Twitch Need to work on the setup still Verizon is currently doing maintenance I assume for G5 tower upgrades I'm hoping the connectivity will return to what it has been in past years or better

Had a favorable tide and good weather taking in the sights at what may be California's premier estuary.

Lahn is perfect for kayaking. Well maintained infrastructure, amateur friendly and god those views are amazing.

Unfortunately our initial 2-day-trip plan converted into one day due to weather collapse but was still fun.

Had the Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve to myself for an hour yesterday, well me and the wildlife. Near perfect conditions too. Some days you're just lucky.

I didn't post much on Reddit over the last few years, but I figure I ought to contribute to the communities I want to see thrive. My friend and I took our kayaks out last week and saw a bunch of beautiful sights, including egrets and great blue herons. Here's a landscape shot.

With the coming (ongoing) exodus from reddit following their June 2023 API policy impacting 3rd party apps, it seemed prudent to fire up a Lemmy home for paddlers of all sorts.
