So I want to talk about how I currently learn Italian. It's mainly Duolingo which lets me practice consistently, but another great way I've found to practice is Le Alternative, and just using their Lemmy instance, feddit.it. I occasionally use some other platforms like Language Transfer that I mentioned in another post, but I also like the Italian section of lingua.com which gives you some short stories and then tests you on your comprehension to ensure that you really understood what was said. Switching your desktop to Italian is another great tool for learning more words. It can be annoying and difficult at times, but that's also part of the fun. Anyway, that's everything I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to reply with any suggestions or your personal strategies for learning Italian

How do you practice? Do you go to a class, use an app, follow a books lessons? Do you use a mixture of learning methods? Which ones are your favorites and why? I personally use several apps but I would like to know how everyone else practices and why they chose their method(s).

Are the any language quirks that you really enjoy using or find interesting in Italian? Any esoteric words that get pulled out for one specific case?

I know we have some native speakers of Italian, especially because of Le Alternative. Some of you may not be native but have been learning for a while. Do you have any tips on things that we may find difficult or confusing while learning Italian?

The main way I learn is Duolingo in all its questionableness (it's free), but Language Transfer has helped me sharpen my skills and understand new concepts. I honestly should do it more often.
