Any sort of Middle Earth legendarium artwork is ok. It doesn't need to be made by or about hobbits.

Please give attribution to the original artist when possible.

It is not required, but if you know, please talk a bit about the scene in the image. What's going on? Who is in it? Why is it happening? Do you like it? Why?

There was much talk with my friends about the Valars lately. One of the topics was the forms they took. This is how I imagine one of Yavanna’s looks.

Description

There are Orcs, very many of them, ' he said. 'And some are large and evil: Black Uruks of Mordor... but there is something else... A great cave-troll, I think, or more than one. There is no hope for escape.'
...
Through the braced and splintered door, a huge arm and shoulder with green scales was thrust. Boromir leaped forward and hewed with all his might, but his sword rang and glanced aside, and fell from his shaken hand

I enjoying finding these quiet moments to illuminate, bringing life and personality to characters while bridging their fictional universe to that of our own.

Depicted is the moment where Elrond dubs them the fellowship of the ring. This was a commission for a wonderful client of mine who always has the best ideas and lets me do it the way that I want.

Hi folks!

I think I don’t wanna leave MiddleEarth and Tolkien’s characters and creatures. So here are Beren and Lùthien, meeting the terrible Carcharoth while they’re running away after taking the Silmaril from Morgoth’s crown!

Hope you like!

Personal work.
Some more personal work of mine, inspired by the elven kingdom of Doriath, from Tolkien's Silmarillion
Beautiful female Maia, with arms upraised in triumph + Tolkien + magic + elven architecture. Yes, I think this one's ready.

It looked like Gandalf and Balrog to me; I found the confirmation in the tags:

The inscription on Gimli's artwork reads as follows: Balin son of Fundin Lord of Moria. Followed by the battle-cry: Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu! Which means the axes of the dwarves! The dwarves are upon you! The inscription for Legolas is a transliteration of "you would die before your stroke fell" into tengwar

The End of Glaurung

I’m still deep in the Tolkien universe for now, and also in the remarkable duels in the different ages.
This time, I stopped in the First Age and I’m proud to introduce you: “The end of Glaurung”.
As this scene is a little bit “historical”, compare to the Lord of the Rings, I really try to give a feeling of an ancient painting. I hope I’ve succeeded in (tell me, haha).
