We are pleased to announce that Flashpoint 12 "Axolotl" is out now!

While this release does not include as many new game additions as previous releases, we have a lot of new technical features that you'll be sure to love!

By now you're probably asking us to spit it out already and jump to the juicy details, and that we will!

Live Updates

This is probably the biggest change that casual users will notice. Gone are the days of waiting for a new release to have new games in your Flashpoint library! You will now be able to see live additions to the archive with the click of a button!

Play Times for Games

You're now able to see both when you last played a game, as well as how much time you've put into a game. These values are stored locally, and can be found in the sidebar.

Savings on Storage Space!

Images served on-demand are now compressed by default, which will save 80% of space for no notable difference. This can be changed however if that's not an issue to you.

Also, support packs for games are now pick and choose. No more waiting for the necessary files to install for platforms you'll never use! However, if you come across a game on a platform you don't have installed that you want to try, the launcher will prompt you to install the necessary files. This reduces a lot of bloat.

Other Changes

Curating and Project Workflow

The launcher now has a lot of new nifty tools and plugins for curators, perhaps now would be a better time than any to add your favourite missing games 👀

The Discord has also been changed up even more than before to enhance workflow. Multiple channels have been converted to threads to help organize work on specific games. On top of this, NSFW games and animations now have an entire category to themselves to help enhance workflow in that space.

Donations

We now take donations through Open Collective! The finances are handled by Open Collective Europe, which is a registered non-profit organization based in Belgium. You can trust that donated funds will be used towards the project since the agreement terms specify that they must be used towards solely for furthering our archival goals. Any expenses and income are publicly visible for full transparency, and will help with project storage and bandwidth. Feel free to support us here!

With all that said and done, enjoy the gaming, and we'll be working diligently as always to save and maintain more webgames for you to enjoy. Cheers!

From Treehouse TV website’s Toons n’ Tunes from around early 2003-early 2008. This was a feature From Treehouse TV’s website called "Toons n' Tunes" that allows you to listen to various songs from various shows that aired on Treehouse TV.

Although I did manage to find some songs from the Treehouse TV show Wee 3 on YouTube, this is only part of my childhood recovered. If anybody can find the remaining songs from the Treehouse TV show Wee 3, please do. I managed to acquire some sound files from the now defunct Sly Cooper Thievius Raccoonus online flash site, so I’m 50% positive I can do this same thing with a little bit of help. But this time, Wayback Machine failed me.

A strange thing has been happening to me when using Flashpoint Archive. I used to play some games with Flashpoint, like, 1 year ago with the PC I use here at work and then I stopped playing, until I recently reinstalled the program to play some games again.

The problem is: Everytime I try to initiate any game, I click on "Play", and the button changes to "Please Wait", and then to "stop", and then to "Play" again, all of this in 1 second. The game never starts.

Can anyone help me?

I followed the Mac Support guide to a T, however when I try to expand the flashpoint 7z folder it says it cannot be expanded. I’ve tried using archive utility, the unarchiver and other programs, but they all say the same thing. How can I fix this?

As the title says, I am unable to view games on Mac. All it shows is a black screen and games won't load. I haven't seen any instructions for what to do online, so I am asking here. What should I do?

Did you have to sacrifice a flashpoint curator to curate the Hellen Keller experience?

Is there any tool to manually add games that aren't in the official archive locally? edit : I looked into curation. Due to the wording I thought that it was about uploading to the archive publicly, but you can just create local ones. With that said, is there anyway to list curations in the normal "Games" or "Animations" lists?

The link, "https://bluepload.unstable.life/flashpointinfinity1210.tar.gz" is currently broken and gives a HTTP 502 Error. Because of this, I am unable to install Flashpoint on my Steam Deck.

I want to play puzzle games in the "flashpoint super hall of fame" playlist, but when i click the puzzle tag whilst in that playlist, I'm shown a list of all puzzle games on flashpoint. What gives? There's got to be a way to do this, I just don't know how. Thanks for any help!

  1. The people who work on curating the games are very kind.
  2. There is a chance that you could find a game which you have forgot.
  3. The games run at a pretty good frame rate (unless if they are above 10 megabytes)
  4. There is a chance of you finding your new favorite web game from it! And finally, 5. There is a chance that a game is exclusive to flashpoint only!

In 2017, Adobe announced that it would end support for the Flash plug-in at the end of 2020. With this announcement came similar ones from browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, and Edge stating they would all cease support for Flash around the same timeframe.

Flash, of course, was the basis for a lot of web games in the 2000s and early 2010s, and helped bring many talented game developers into the spotlight. It also paved way for many talented animators to reach and impact a wide audience.

In early 2018, BlueMaxima decided to start an archival project to save as much Flash games as possible, and since then it has grown to an effort of hundreds of individuals over the years to preserve not just Flash, but web games and interactives dating as early as 1994.

Since the start of the project, Flashpoint has grown to include over 150,000 games and 25,000 animations, with that number growing with each release.

If you wish to see what’s included in the archive, feel free to use the search tool here, or feel free to join our Discord for other questions or simply to hang out.
