I'm doing some looking into Stardew Valley as I consider buying it on Steam. I've heard that SDV has several complicated mechanics, especially compared to newer cozy games. By this, I mean complex NPC schedules and friendships, very involved farming, a very short game day, a relatively punishing curfew, and game elements that may not be readily apparent to a new player and can be a bit unforgiving if you miss them. For those who have played it, would you say that it's more "hardcore" than the more recent entries in the genre?

Thanks for any opinions!

Curious what your answer will be, particularly for the coziest console; the Nintendo Switch? Which RPGs fit the bill? WhT are the best farming RPGs? Which ones are you looking forward to?

I've been waiting for this to go on major sale since I know it's a short game. Looking forward to playing :)

Looking for a game where you get to know the npcs and their stories through friendship and romance. Something where dating sim is a major focus on the game, or can be.

Hi, I’m looking for a new game to play. I really love games like Two Point (both Campus and Hospital), Dorfromantik, Wylde Flowers, Stardew, ACNH, MTAP, …

I want to find a new game that I can play for hours and hours. I really like it if I don’t need the sound of the game to play so I can listen to book or a podcast.

I like both grindy and more relaxing games. Managing games are my favourite I think. I also like farming games.

The only thing I really don’t like are manga/anime style games.

I play mostly on steamdeck but I also have a switch.

Can someone help me find a new game? Thanks so much in advance!

Here are my top 5 budget friendly games I’ve played recently!

1: Sun haven (PC/switch coming soon) - this is extremely similar to stardew valley and has absolutely became my favourite!! There’s so much to do which can be overwhelming but take it at your own pace!

2: Disney dream light valley: (PC) - this game is so cute and nostalgic, lots of decorating and clothes designing options, I did find myself getting lazy completing the missions but I have a short attention span

3: Palia: (PC/switch coming soon) - FREE mmo, super addicting, decorating, relationship building and i like the skill levels!

4: Paleo pines (PC/switch) - it looks like animal crossing but with dinosaurs! This game is super new so I haven’t played much and I get confused on what I’m meant to do but I love the Dino’s so far and I love being able to play this in bed with a tea

5: Stadew valley expanded: (PC) I love the original stardew but after a while i got bored. The expanded mod makes it feel like a whole new gameeee!

Ooblets just came out for Steam. For those of you who have been playing, how many hours do you have in the game? Are you still playing or did you get bored of it?

Had this on my list for awhile based on seeing it here. At an all time low right now but wanted to see if it’s really worth it?

I'm now on my second play. I finished my first play and immediately dipped back in for another round. I didn't think I could be so moved by a video game. It's so beautiful and fun and thoughtful and engaging. Please give it a try if you haven't already.

I don't think I would have learned about this game from anywhere else but here, so thanks.

I’m not exaggerating I mean we have 3 towns 3 farms of 3 different types it’s so much!!! I really hope we get a expansion and get a town and farms with the elementals, Angels, Nagas, Were people. But it’s got so much for me to bite into. I made another character for Halloween and have my farm in the demon territory. It’s 100% worth full price. And it’s soooooo cozy with its art style and it’s soo cozy with the adjustable daylight cycles and you can turn off hard event or check invincibility and enjoy it without worrying about a game over screen. It’s so laid back.

Ive always wanted a switch just never got around to it, but im at a super good place financially to splurge on gaming and I’m debating if the switch is worth it or to just buy some more stream games and get sims 4 ranch pack. ;-;

Title basically. I’ve been looking forward to getting this game but will definitely not be spending $90CAD (after taxes) on it, but unfortunately the Switch is my only option because my laptop can’t handle the game.

Is there a reason why it’s $49.99CAD on Steam and $79.99 on the Nintendo E-Shop? I’ve seen slight discrepancies in price before (“I Was a Teenage Exocolonist” is $4 more on Steam than Switch, for example) but this is a HUGE difference in price for what appears to be the exact same product. I’m disappointed but hoping to be enlightened.

I have been looking for some fun games to play during October and I thought I would share some of my favorites! Not all of them are "cozy" but I think they are worth mentioning!

If you're interested in more spooky games or other games coming out this month, check out the site I made to highlight them!

Been in such a mood the past couple days that I just keep buying games. It's really no different that retail therapy (clothes shopping/splurging), it's probably cheaper.

All of them have been heavily discounted, I paid $6.10USD for No Place Like Home. But they add up fast. I haven't broken down and bought Fae Farm yet and the longer I wait for a sale the less hyped I am about it which is probably for the best and I don't mind waiting for a good sale.

Hey everyone! Been really into stardew-like games and taking a pause till the update comes out. In the mean time I’m looking for something similar that has some romancing involved. I’ve been playing some moonstone island recently but it isn’t scratching the same itch as the development in late game is kind of dull and repetitive.

Any suggestions for something that will bring me to the stardew update? Thanks in advance!
