I'm getting ready to run Icewind Dale, and noticed some of the maps have this marking in them, but none of them call attention to it or explain it. Does it indicate height, or something weird like "this ramp is a right triangle with a hypotenuse of 30 feet" or "30 feet extra ramp here we didn't have space for, stretch it out when you run it"?

I've created this multi-level battlemap for a recent intermission campaign with some mystery and intrigue. You can get it all as pay what you want over on ko-fi and use it in your own campaigns. If you do get around to doing that, do let me know what you think!

After three weeks trekking into the mountains your party has made it to the remote temple. Well, almost... the monks who defend its sanctity will not be easy to pass by. Roll initiative.

The picturesque beach ahead looks serene, but several locals went missing here while swimming recently. What lurks beneath the waves or in the rocks that would leave no trace?

Hi everyone!

Skyrim is my favorite game probably ever (with The Witcher series as a very close second)... I may or may not have travelled to Bleak Falls Barrow... for research purposes. Totally for research purposes. I totally did not stay at a nearby tavern, had a drink, and killed a bear and an occasional bandit.

This month's winning theme on my Patreon was "Steampunk", so I decided to create this broken automaton. This one was really fun to work on, I think it came out really well! I also feel like this could be used in both Steampunk / Fantasy and even Sci Fi.

Hi everyone!

I get a lot of questions about how I make my battle maps - and the answer is - I paint them by hand in Photoshop. I actually made a time-lapse of painting this map, so you could see every stroke! You can check it out right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXV_pEBuFfA

This one is inspired by an old, overgrown well we have across from our house. I even asked our neighbors if I could get back there and take some pictures of it, so I could use it as a reference! They were kind enough to agree :).

The idea for the slow motion explosion came from the movie The Hobbit... I think it was The Battle of the Five Armies where Legolas was stepping on falling rocks faster than they could fall to get himself up a falling tower. It's an unrealistic and ridiculous scene, and also one of my favorites haha. So I figured something so over the top and so unrealistic could be really fun to play in a TTRPG. Just imagine it - as a deadly explosion is taking place, time has slowed down as the players suddenly find themselves being able to move incredibly fast. The bad guys are still beating them up (or maybe the bad guys are getting incinerated as they fall through the cracks?) as the players are jumping from one moving rock to another to get themselves to safety.

Hi everyone!

This is my first map of the year, and I think I kicked it off with a bang!

We are also working on animating this one, and it will also be available on my Patreon. We are working on making the heart actually beat, and the veins inflate / deflate! How cool is that!

You can grab this map for free here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/dragon-heart-map-96396801

And the animated map will also be available for free in about a week.

Hi everyone!

This is the last bit that I released that makes a large 50x70 map with 4 separate connected map releases. This last one I think finally answers where all those lights are coming from - the shrine at the bottom left of the large map! Since it is a colorful and nature-y map, I themed it as fey, but it can be any kind of forest / plains / river / wilderness map as well, doesn't have to be fey.

Watch your step! Just a couple feet off the road is a twenty foot sheer drop into frigid water.

14

Past the small opening, the cave opens up into a large chamber. It's freezing inside, but the air is still. Who or what might have made this their home for the winter?

15

The road ahead winds past small cliffs nearby. This area is known to be dangerous, it's all too easy to hide in places like this, and brigands take advantage.

16

This isolated, walled homestead looks closed for the winter. Snow is piled high on the roof. You wonder if anything of value was left behind.

17

Even the water appears to glow here. The falls are beautiful, but it is hard to tell how deep the water is.

Based on the number of votes, these cavern maps aren't as liked as outdoor ones. Don't worry, winter maps start again tomorrow ;)

The ceiling above stretches into the distance, and it is hard to tell if the glimmer of light above is an opening to the outside or another light source. In front of you, a portal hums resonates with power. To what place or plane does it go?

20

Huge luminescent crystals occupy this massive subterranean space, filling it with light. The massive chamber stretches into the darkness ahead. How many of your party have Darkvision?

Hi everyone!

Wanted to share a new map I released recently. Last month’s theme for my maps was Roads and Paths, and this was one of the maps to fit the theme. The size is 30x30.

Along the path, the catacombs you were told are off limits are already opened. It's unnaturally dark inside. Ready your torches.

23

24

This small settlement in the woods doesn't look as inviting as you had hoped, and you don't see tracks from recent activity despite the lights still being on. Worry creeps in that something awful has happened here recently.

25

Here the water is shallow enough that you can cross with only your boots getting wet. That's fortunate because frost-bite can be deadly out here.
