Plexus worldwide is a MLM company in Scottsdale Az that sells nutritional “Wellness” supplements as well as weight loss/management and personal care products.

The recruits known as Ambassadors are used to sell the products.

CEO Tarl Robinson

When it started it advertised weight loss whereas now it has changed its branding/statement to weight management no more “drink pink and shrink”

The pink drink is undoubtedly what Plexus is most known for as such its advertising, claims and even the contents have caused some controversy with the FDA issuing a warning in 2014 to Plexus regarding the way it was making claims that it could treat certain health conditions despite this warning tina.org has found more than a 100 inappropriate health claims the FTC has also issued many warnings even up to 2020 for reps claiming that the pink drink could improve immune system and help prevent Covid.

The ingredients of the pink drink have changed a few times over the years leading to claims that it no longer works a lot have linked it to the removal of Hoodia gordonil that claims to be an effective appetite suppressant.

Founded in 1998 by Carl Daikeler and Jon Congon in California.

A USA based weight loss products and fitness videos seller.

They utilise a direct sales team called Team Beach Body, BODi, who are independent distributors and call themselves Coaches (despite having no qualifications in health, nutrition or fitness).

To become a Coach/Partner is very simple a few details about yourself and some purchases of starter deals or registration fee and your all set, they do as if you have been referred by someone but never fear if you have not your hard work won't be for nought they can assign you to someone so that they can become your upline and make some money off of you.

To start they charge you a onetime registration fee of $39.95 which can be waived if you purchase a Total-Solution pack (more on that later)

And every 30 days there is a reoccurring monthly fee of $15.95. This can be cancelled at any time.

If you just pay the one-time fee and ignore the next few pages of products shoved into your face then you will receive a welcome email containing a welcome business information book, 30-day access to online partner office and key marketing and support tool to help you start your business.

If you choose to purchase the Total-Solution pack for $219 valued at $360.80

You will then get 1 year subscription to BODi, 20-day supply of shakeology, 20-day supply of Energise, Tools and recipes regarding healthy eating and exercise and finally free access to the newest super block.

Commission plan

The best way to grow is to invite new customers and coaches to the Beach Body challenge group by getting them to purchase the Challenger Pack – from $160 upwards.

Earn up to 36% for every pack sold and also every non-challenger product, you’ll earn 25% or 15% if they are a Beach Body on demand sub.

Team cycle bonus (this is so convoluted and just pointless I just can't get the point of having the legs and a strong/weak on etc)

Earn from the sales of your entire downline It cycles whenever you have 300 Balanced volume points

Earn between $14-$18 each cycle dependant on your rank Emerald earns $14 each cycle up to $250 per week

Ruby earns $16 up to $1000 per week

Diamond earns $18 from up to $2000 to $12000 per week.

It is important to remember, as a newer coach, that to earn these you must have advanced to emerald which requires you to have scammed I mean sponsored two other active coaches 1 for each leg for them to classify to count as an active coach they need to meet the PV requirement which can be through retail sales or, of course, personal sales.

“As a coach that TV is just sitting there, and you are just flushing that money down the toilet so why not recruit and rank up so you can take a chunk of this too”.

“It's important to remember your team has real value to you don’t waste it”.

Common arguments to make people feel bad for wasting that money and pushing them to recruit, recruit, recruit to get that money.

Going off the Income disclosure statement I had from 2020 (I will update this with a more up to date disclosure asap)

Emerald rank – Average - $3,142

Ruby rank – Average - $12,186

Diamond rank – Average - $16,991

Star diamond – Average - $116,539

The diamond ranks have 15 different ranks within it that are not included in t hat

43% of coaches receive some form of bonus or commission cheque.

“Large number of the coaches used in this disclosure form choose not to build a business”

Of course, they have to put that in there to try to explain why so many people make so little.

This disclosure for does not consider any expenses that the coaches have such as packs and products they have to buy to be able to sell to other people and all the personal sales they make just to reach or remain at their current rank. It also does not show all the hours they spent actually working I would love to see a comparison of the hours they spend vs how much they earn.

This does not even begin to go over they ‘Trips’ they win and supposed training they receive to help them reach their business goals. Those are something I will be going into in other post as this one is already getting rather long.

From Arbonne to Zyia Active most MLMs follow a similar underhand layout.

A lot of them claim to empower women as a front to gain support from this feminist point of view, giving women a step up to allow them to reach their potential and to become ‘business owners’.

Often targeting stay at home mums/wives who need a way to make money while still being able to be at home and flexible, A way to make money from your phone/ become an influencer for this brand which is an interesting idea to many people as social media and technology has become an ever-present part of our day-to-day life.

It's not a pyramid scheme those are illegal, we have an actual product, and it is defiantly possible to make money without recruitment so therefore it's not a dodgy idea. All these arguments and more flood peoples dm’s following a no thank you from you as another stranger pops in to say, ‘hi Hun I have an amazing business opportunity for you that you would be perfect for’.

I hope to build a community here to help others spot these dangerous company's, sympathise with people who have made their way out of the gaslighting wonderland of an MLM and to tear apart posts and videos from these people so we can show the psychology behind the marketing that they push onto everyone.

I will be building a pinned post that lists all the MLM’s I can find but please feel free to post any lists or companies that you have, the more we know the more we can avoid.

Thank you and welcome.
