In addition to the 6-month break for the anime, ‘One Piece’ has just announced a two-week break for the manga.

The reason for the break is that Oda wants to get involved in the second season of the live-action and wants to spend a few days supervising Netflix to make sure that everything is done as well as in the first season.

In what will likely go down in history as one of the saddest developments in anime, Adult Swim‘s long-delayed anime adaptation of Junji Ito’s Uzumaki went from critical acclaim to utter disappointment in two episodes because of a staggering drop in animation quality. Although io9 reached out to Adult Swim to inquire about why the show experienced such a perplexing dip in quality as reactions emerged yesterday, the anime’s executive producer has broken his silence on the whole ordeal in a now-deleted social media post.

In a BlueSky post (first spotted by Comic Book Resources) that was later screenshotted and spread online, Uzumaki producer Jason DeMarco revealed that Adult Swim was, to put it mildly, "screwed over" with the Ito anime.

"It’s fine, we knew this would happen. I can’t talk about what went down, but we were screwed over, and the options were A) not finish and air nothing and call it a loss, B) Just finish and air Episode 1 and leave it incomplete or C) run all four, warts and all. Out of respect for the hard work we chose C," DeMarco wrote in the first of a series of posts. "After waiting so long, it makes sense people would be mad. Unfortunately, I can’t tell them who to blame it on… but someone is definitely at fault here, and we all just had to do our best when things imploded. Maybe others would have made different choices. We did the best we could with what we had."

He continued: "But again, a lot of people worked very hard on this show, and I didn’t think the actions of just one or two people should be the reason it never saw the light of day. Maybe that’s the wrong choice. I truly don’t know. But those people have a right to be annoyed and disappointed. I’m glad you are digging it."

Voice actor Doc Harris (birth name Gilbert Auchinleck) died at Vancouver General Hospital on Saturday morning. Harris had minor surgery last month. He was 76.

Harris began his career in radio broadcasting in Canada in 1966. He was known by names such as "Gil Harris" and "Doc Holiday" before he took on the moniker of Doc Harris.

One of his most iconic roles was as the narrator for the original Ocean Studios English dub for the Dragon Ball Z anime and the first few movies. He voiced other characters as well for the Canadian-produced dub. He was also the voice of Grogar in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic animated series. Harris had roles in other anime, shows, and games such as Monster Rancher, Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space, Aegis Defenders, Hulk: The Video Game, and Captain N The Game Master.

Three years ago, mutant demons began appearing in Japan. While some are harmless or helpful towards humans, others are troublesome. Created from humans suffering from extreme emotional distress or unresolved trauma, these mutant demons began to wreak havoc as they began to evolve to be more intelligent and dangerous.

A lone rooster named Keiji wanders around various cities of Japan while defeating mutant demons he encounters. His ultimate goal is to find and kill the mutant dubbed "The White Demon" who killed his sister in order to avenge her death.

I went hands-on with Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero during Summer Game Fest, and I think it’s going to be the perfect sandbox tool for hardcore Dragon Ball fans. It’s got a story mode that covers the manga’s iconic narrative, a vast cast of characters to use in satisfyingly bombastic brawls, and a Custom Battle mode that will let players create the battle scenarios of their dreams.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero launches on October 11 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
