I saw this in another thread (about iPhone thought) and thought I would put it in android.

As the tittle says. I want to hear about awesome features that anyone can use, but aren’t very obvious or requires a little bit of digging to find them. This could be in Android 15. Thinking in Pixel or Galaxy but could be any phone running Android.

TLDR;

Parking here an idea about creating a temporary QR-code based Wi-Fi sharing feature.

Usecase:

I often run out of my mobile data and forget to recharge, and people don't share their network over hotspot fearing their data would drain and it is hassle to change password in such cases.

This case be solved using a short lived network sharing.

How this'll work

  • Request a person for wifi, donor would use the short-live wifi sharing feature
  • A QR code will be generated with temporary password in donor device, requester will scan and connect to that connection
  • Limit on time and data usage can be set, after which the connection will automatically close.

I looked but don't think there's any such thing provided by Android itself. And probably there's no way to feature request to Google as well.

Parking it here in case somebody can forward to Google.

New phones will list 3000, 4500 or even 6000 nits of peak brightness and will advertise it like crazy. In all reality the actual peak brightness is nowhere near that. The only real brightness number that matters is the manual brightness and even the brightest phones can only hit 1000 max

I was messing around with 2 of my android 14 phones and I held the android 14 easter egg button on both of them at the same time. I was messing round with both of them in the game when I realised the games where the exact same down to the names and number of the planets. The random generated names in the android 14 easter egg get their randomness from the time that you use it

On https://developer.android.com/tools/releases/platform-tools, we can download the latest version of platform-tools/adb for Windows.

Then there is a list of revisions, but there is no link to each specific version.

The direct link used to be https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools_r$VERSION-windows.zip, for example:

However, 35.0.1 and 35.0.2 (listed in "Revisions") are not available using this pattern:

Do you know how to link to these specific versions?

Thank you

I explain: I am a dual user of a Galaxy S22 Plus. I live in the USA and therefore here the Galaxy of the series "S" are all released with the Snapdragon of the series 8 of the year; that means that the Galaxy S25 here will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 with its new Oryon cores

The Galaxy S25 strikes me to buy them as they will use those new Snapdragon with totally new architecture, but it is not the only change I expect. since the S22, the 3 sensors of the camera have not changed at all and all the improvements have come via processing and software, but there are already 3 generations with the same camera sensors and it would be ridiculous from my point of view that they did not update them for the new S25 and S25 Plus. If they don't, they're going to be too far away and outdated compared to the competition. For example, Google with the Pixel 9 updated all its camera sensors and now all the sensors in the Pixels are 50 Megapixels; for example, the main sensor of the camera went from being a Samsung GN2 sensor to the new Samsung GNK. I think if the S25 and S25 Plus do not update at least the main sensor of the camera, I will not buy it.

It might be the best thing they've done in years and imo should be the new Play Store/Al powered android homescreen experience. Why is it basically hidden other than the one play store widget?
