With today's signing of Mo Seider, all of the Red Wings' free agents are accounted for for the upcoming season!

What are your thoughts on these contracts?

I think that Mo and Ray's will age very well. I wish we could have gotten Seider on an 8 year deal, but I'm still happy with what we got, and I think it'll be nice to not have them both coming off the books in the same year. I also have a lot of faith in Berggren and I'm excited to see what he does on this prove-it deal!

Berggren: 1 x 825k https://x.com/DetroitRedWings/status/1835709030750187902

Raymond: 8 x 8.075m https://x.com/DetroitRedWings/status/1835812462836457587

Seider: 7 x 8.55m https://x.com/DetroitRedWings/status/1836826666644955497

Happen to be in town for the Canes v Redwings game on 12/14. Picked up a ticket. Any must haves to eat at the stadium? Any do/don'ts? Cheers for a good game.

How are we all feeling about the news? I personally love it, low risk high reward and hopefully it'll make Chicago fans sad.

Loving the grit and chemistry of the 2nd line through the first 4 games.

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ca/post/3402838

Lindstrom and a 4th round pick. Pens retain $1.3 million, Canadiens and Red Wings pay $2.3 million each. Contract has 2 remaining years. Seems like a relatively even trade of a veteran presence for a young defensman.

There is a good article from Max Bultman regarding several red Wings Prospects. It sounds like Pellikka still has a way to go but Johannson may be closer to pushing for a roster spot. I'm also trying to crosspost this into the NHL community since it seems to be pretty quiet in team communities during the summer.

With big roster moves likely done, what do you predict next year's line combinations to be?

The extension was already posted but not the trade. This is a really solid deal for us. Great option on the 1st rounder, an expiring/expendable Kubalik, and a mid-range D man in Sebrango (whom I liked but is also at best currently 4th or 5th on our defensive prospect depth chart). No Berggren/simlar. Overall, nice piece of business.

Looking at stats alone, DeBrincat is likely to get around a similar contract as Larkin around $8.5 million. Is he worth the huge contract for the Red Wings?

Hearing Red Wings will place Filip Zadina on unconditional waivers at 12 noon ET today for purposes of mutual contract termination.

Zadina is foregoing the $4.56 million remaining on his deal, seeking a fresh start elsewhere. Huge courage to bet on himself.

Good to start getting a feel for who's got eyes on them heading into 2024. If this were reddit there'd already be 10 posts of people saying Pronman sucks. I personally really appreciate him, but also would probably end up slightly dead inside if we draft 8OA next year.

Regardless, good to start learning these talents. Imagine drafting another Eiserman...

Definitely not the news I was expecting today, sad he couldn't put it all together.

Like the article suggests, I'm not entirely sure we're better on paper than last year.

Obviously there's more to a good hockey team than being good on paper though. What are everyone's thoughts?
