I've been using the "kitchen timer" function on my microwave non-stop since I found it

I do the same thing by only putting my drink in the freezer when I'm cooking something else on a timer like in the microwave.
❌ Randomly when I just want a cold one?
✅ When I'm making a hot pocket.
Bonus points if it's contained in a pressurized aluminum can.
Expect: "What the heck was that boom?!"
I hope it was seltzer instead of soda.
Kid of a girl I was seeing years ago put a can of Coke in there, forgot about it, and the fucking can exploding blew the door of the freezer off somehow.
our sink is close to the stove.
It has a extentable head.
It can be used to fill a pot thats already on the stove.
sometimes this takes more than 3 seconds for large pots.
so you can just hang the head of the faucet in the pot for half a minute, the hose is just long enough.
Then you go and fetch mop and bucket, and dry socks.
every single time.
Man, I've done that so many times. Another one is, "I'll set this important object in this random place while I go do a side-errand. When I'm done I'm sure I will somehow remember where I left it, even though this has never worked before."
I'll just boil water for hot tea instead... where'd all my water go?
Get a drink with more alcohol in it. It will survive longer
Roughly 1 degree below 0°C per degree (percent) of alcohol is the rule of thumb I was taught
I'll remember because by the time I put it in there I'm close to dying of thirst, but still won't drink something at room temp. So forgetting and then remembering my crippling dehydration is generally a pretty good egg timer for it
Know thyself and set a timer. I don't allow myself to do stuff like that without setting an alarm.
Beep, beep, beep,
Beep, beep, beep,
What's that for, again?
Better turn it off
I’m gonna turn it off now, and get to it right away. Where does the burn smell come from?
MultiTimer for Android and iOS: Set as many labelled timers as you like.
Android (not sure about iOS) you can also label your native alarm app alarms.
Can recommend 👍👍
"Why does it smell burnt? I am sure I set a timer!"
20 minutes later: silences timer because I’m too focused on something else.
2 days later: … crap.
"Hey Google, set a 20 min reminder*, 'drinks in the freezer'"
20 mins later Google will notify "Brinks the breezer" but hopefully that's enough to remind me.
I have graduated to even screwing up my timers. Now the timer doesn't get silenced until the thing it is timing gets accomplished. Unless I'm distracted and fail to use that rule, then it's back to square one of course.
Edit: whoops, two people already said basically this. Guess I'll leave it
FUCK I put a snack in the freezer like... 5 days ago? And completely forgot about it until now
This will happen again I can't fetch it right now
I’ve forgotten about thin mints in the freezer for so long that I had purchased another pack the next Girl Scout cookie season and only found them when I put newly purchased package in the freezer.
I've learned the hard way (multiple times) that if beverage goes into freezer a timer of one hour MUST be set on my phone or smart speaker, because I gaslighted myself into believing it's illegal to put drinks in the freezer and if someone finds out I'll be arrested.
This is genius!!
Bomb has been planted.
My ex. Never me. I'd drink soda warm before id risk it bursting.
My ADHD absolutely can't handle that clean up.
If you get lucky it supercools before freezing and the shock of the vessel breaching is enough to freeze the rest of it mid-explosion. The one time I've had a bottle burst (luckily the cap gave way first), that happened and I was left with a bottle with frozen liquid holding the cap a few cm above the bottle and minimal dripping.
You mean my roommate wasn't trying to make beer slushy all over the freezer daily?
No I wasn’t
That's why I always set a 1 hour timer. Or I will definitely forget.
Sometimes I set a timer and when it chimes I've already forget what it was for lol
On most smartphones you can give titles to timers.
instinctively silences timer without addressing what the timer was for
It's even faster to put it in ice water and the worst that can happen if you forget about it is your drink gets warm again.
Add salt to the ice water so it melts colder and it will cool your drink faster.
B and C. Nothing should be on Facebook.
So many exploded cans and bottles in my youth but also the magic when you got it and your coke was in slushie form and then you added booze.
Chefs kiss
get a wife. you leave one drink to long in the freezer a few dozen times and they never let you live it down.
Obviously it won't work for cold drinks, but for warm drinks, I got my wife a few of these:

She still forgets her drinks, but now when she finds them, they've usually maintained the desired temperature.
I'm in this picture and I don't like it.
I have timers/alarms for everything. At least one hundred.
