Hi there, I ran out of space on my iphone because I have too many photos. I DO NOT want to back these up on icloud. I'd like to back them up on a flash drive ideally (or a macbook if necessary - keep reading). And somehow keep all the useful iOS metadata, like date, search tags, people tags, automatic foldering like screenshot, selfie, etc.

I started by hooking my iphone up to macbook with a usb c cable and "importing" some photos to the computer. But then when I go to delete the photos from my phone, it is warning it will delete the photo "on all devices" - does this mean I will lose the backup I just made to my computer as well?

I'm pretty computer savvy but I am NOT iphone/ icloud savvy, as I am a recent Apple convert. Please help- what are my best options here and can you help me with the process? Thank you!
