I was just given a Kindle paperwhite gen 12 for Christmas and I’m wondering how to set it up before I even get to downloading and transferring any books.

When I turn it on it immediately asks me how I want to set it up and to connect it to my Amazon account.

Is it safe to connect it to my real Amazon account if I plan on using it solely for pirated content? Should I set it up in any special way? Do I need to jailbreak it?
