I use coolercontrol to set fan curves, but the application needs to be open for it to work. If I run GPU pass through there is no X server running, so the app can’t stay open while running the VM and I have no control over fan curves.

I tried passing the commander pro through to the VM and use FanControl for windows but it can’t see any temperature sensors, so I can’t set use it properly.

How can I set the fan curves properly while using the VM? I use to play cyberpunk, probably the most demanding game I own, so I need to keep temperatures down to stop the game running like shit.

Sounds like an oversight by the coolercontrol devs. You should ask them about adding a headless/background mode.

I’ve raised a feature request on their GitLab, hopefully they can build this feature in.
