Summary

Donald Trump is forming the wealthiest administration in U.S. history, collectively worth over $330 billion.

Billionaires like Elon Musk ($300B), Linda McMahon, and Vivek Ramaswamy are key appointees, alongside ultra-wealthy Cabinet members.

Musk and Ramaswamy will lead a new Department of Government Efficiency, pushing for deep public spending cuts.

The administration’s combined wealth far surpasses that of Joe Biden’s Cabinet and rivals the GDP of some nations.

Critics argue this contrasts with Trump’s populist messaging, while Senate confirmations could spotlight wealth disparities.

Surely they'll be looking out for our best interests

“They’re rich, so they’re make me rich too!”

I heard a version of this sentiment in 2016. I was sitting near a well-dressed elderly couple at the regional airport. The woman was on her phone, explaining her support for Trump. I'll paraphrase.

"He knows so many rich people! He'll appoint them to the government, and they won't steal from it because they've already got so much money they won't want to."

I disagree with that statement for so many reasons, but that's what she expressed. This opinion was boggling enough at the time that it stuck with me almost ten years later.

Completely ignoring the question of “how did they get rich?”

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago

Well, they made enough money to live out their lives extremely comfortably doing whatever they wanted, and the thing they chose to do with their life was to chase more money.

Probably a corollary of Worthington's Law:

When he said drain the swamp he meant drain all the money into offshore accounts and bitcoin and leave the citizens high and dry.

Bitcoin will be temporary. They'll dump it at some point and create a whole shitton of bag holders.

Maybe when it hits a million or something in that range. I dunno, though, I've been hearing this kind of thing for 15 years or so. Not that it won't happen, I guess, but it seems like they are waiting a very long time...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Can't happen, actually. Most Bitcoin belongs to a small number of people and they can't sell without collapsing their entire deal.

Yeah, hard to say. Crypto has gone into a rather weird direction since its inception. If it is going to be used as a way of conducting transactions for real, people would have to move stuff in and out of fiat very quickly, given it is being used as an asset class more so than currency.

And they called Trump the “anti-establishment”…

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

Who did? Trump's propaganda team?

[–] [email protected] 20 points 2 weeks ago

Look, the actual deep state

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago

Let them eat cake

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago

I'm sure they will also see the largest increase in personal wealth of any administration.

Bunch of dummies voted for these guys because they thought Democrats are were a bunch of "elitist" eggheads (the tribe that rubs shit in their hair has equated being smart and knowing things and even basic fucking proficiency with "elitist") and they felt they were being talked down by some mythological group of "Democrats" they've probably never actually interacted with.

Now they've handed the country to a bunch of demonic ACTUAL elites that are intent on destroying the country. Well done.

Well considering the system was designed to violently protect the privilege of literal slave masters...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

Mmmmm... I haven't read the article but I suspect it's not true when factoring the Harding administration and inflation.

Might need to exclude Musk, but I bet it's not far off.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

So, the slogan of Make America Great Again meant that the Ultra Wealthiest will go ahead and distribute their wealth with those in real need in the USA.

Trump’s Team of Billionaires Will Be the Wealthiest Administration in U.S. History

Hell yeah! The stars have aligned!

America was headed toward doom through the liberal left. I don't actually particularly like Trump, but he's a means toward an end.

God bless America.
