I greatly hope Apple allows us to set the Action Button for: Single tap Double tap Triple tap Long press
And perhaps even custom combinations of taps/presses to allow for greater use.
Limiting us to ONE use from a long press is confusing to me.
It’s cool that people have created shortcuts that can imitate this, but it’s one of those “should be standard” things.
It might not be very complex but I set mine up as a toggle for the Always on Display on my phone and watch. If I’m watching a movie or whatnot (even at home) I’ll often toggle them off so that they’re not in my line of sight.
It’s also encouraged me set some similar rules for when certain focuses are enabled. For example; Now when I connect my phone to CarPlay the AoD will automatically switch off.
Can’t you just flip the phone over?
And my Apple Watch? The shortcut toggles both AoD’s.
Oh wow this a great idea! How did you do it?
-edit- I see how to make a shortcut to turn it “on” or “off”, but the toggle IF on or IF off is what has me stumped.
Update: I figured it out. Change "turn on" to "toggle". smh my damn head
The AoD on my phone already turns off when I plug into CarPlay
