I work at a smoke shop so of course someone is bound to hand me fake money from time to time but this time idk i felt a little disrespected. These 2 dudes walk in near closing time while I’m vacuuming after an already long day. They go up to the counter and decide to purchase a pack of rolling papers and a car ashtray, totaling to about $8. The shorter of the 2 pulled out what looked like a $100 bill and right of the bat alarms went off in my head. This kid hands me one of the fakest $100 bills that I have ever seen in my 2 years working there. “This is fake” i immediately say. Dude is gonna look me in the face and ask “whatchu mean?” Me: This is fake bro
Shorter guy: Nah bro it aint fake
I scanned it through the counterfeit bill detector 5 times and it failed each time and told him “this shit is fake”. Both of them act stupid and the taller guy even says “yo bro thats fucked up you gotta talk to whoever gave that to you” to his friend. As they walk out shorter guy turns around and says “aight we’ll be back” and i just respond with “uh huh, we’re about to close by the way.” Kinda like a signal to not come back. The customer behind them saw the whole thing and commented on how fake that bill looked even at a distance. Idk it was a little infuriating that someone would hand me a bill that fake and even act stupid after getting caught, you would have to be blind asf to not notice something like that.
Btw i know you’re supposed to confiscate the bill and notify the police but it was closing time and i was not about to deal with that shit
