Scortcher is fantastic with one caveat: you will be ammo starved the entire time. Weirdly enough I love using the crossbow and don't feel the same (just surprised when the magazine is empty)...
I love any main that takes out bot chickens (scouts)., and this fits the bill nicely. I haven't used the plasma pistol yet because the SMG and shotgun (Halt) were.....ehhhhhhhh... Not good for me, so I'm a bit shy about replacing the senator.
Yeah I’ve heard that about the smg and shotty, but like I said I have the senator so taking out walkers isn’t too bad especially since they change it to be heavy ap
Oh, also my 2¢ about the Jars is that it's very slow to bring up and aim, the crossbow I found more numbleneith the same effectiveness/fun factor.
Very satisfying to hit one bot to have it explode and take out a group, 2 shots down the exhaust in a factory and it's done as well.
Run it with scout armor and you can sneak into the position you need to do the most damage.
The jar is great all around., both for bugs and bots.
Plasma piatol hits hard, but so few shots and I tend to flinch a little on release frk charging up so I'm not a big fan.
I personally love the crossbow on nids because it has the explosion for midsized bugs and closes multiple holes quickly. Just have to adjust for the dropoff. If I take that I need one of the faster firing pistols with many shots for the small crowds.
Honestly I like to mix up gear on anything less than a 7 just for fun. Always good to see if things are as good or bad as I remember since there are so many to choose from and almost all of them are decent now.
Oh I didn’t know the cross bow could close holes, which weapon btw and what carbon if you know
I like the jar cuz it hits like a truck and has decent ammo. The scorcher fills a similar niche in that it kills all the same targets in similar times, it just doesn't have as much ammo per mag.
I second the crossbow, beautiful gun in terms of performance. I just find it a little underwhelming to actually use, it doesn't have the visceral satisfaction of the other guns, it's lacking the bang and immediate feedback I think. Great effect on target though and can kill fabricators which is super handy.
The diligence counter sniper is a good head popper if you can manage the accuracy needed to be effective with it.
I always enjoyed the slugger for the stopping power and stagger. Doesn't do the walkers very well though compared to the others.
If you have the dagger try it against the bots, I really appreciate it for being able to shoot berserkers whilst running away and being able to pop mines without wasting ammo. It's surprisingly useful to have an infinite ammo secondary against the bots.
I have the laser primary weapon (sickle I think) and it felt eh, not god awful but not a go to pick so as great as infinite ammo with it reloading passively (quasar cannon my beloved) the damage is why I avoided the dagger, but I might check it out
The scythe the continuous fire laser is pretty bad, it got a buff recently which makes it barely useable. The sickle the assault rifle laser is pretty good and quite satisfying to use.
The dagger got buffed in the big patch and works pretty well now rather than tickling everything.
The other energy weapons worth using is the blitzer shotgun but only on the bugs and the plasma shotgun which has so much stagger it's good for both.
I see we think alike on the scythe, I might try the sickle and dagger then
