the tucker carlson thing might just seem like goofy nonsense, but it's intentional specifically to raise the fear level among GOP. they actually believe this shit. and if demons are coming after tucker carlson, then that means they'll definitely come for us too! and once these people look back at something (anything) bad that's happened over the course of their life and say "yep that was definitely demons!!" then it's easy enough to redirect blame for the demons on mexicans, gays, women, etc etc etc

is any of this plausible? not remotely. but everyone needs to get rid of the assumption that anything needs to be plausible or make any sense to uneducated bumpkin R voters. they believe what they're told to believe by their superiors, because that's what good christians do
