That same Patriot Addict company also has a Trump bobblehead which is 100x more horrifying than I expected. Tremendously horrifying. The most horrifying thing in the history of our country.

I am not going to that URL, but I'm predicting that even at "20%" off that knife is a bad deal.

Resident knife dweeb here. You all know me; my credentials are in my post history. I am a veritable connoisseur of crap exactly like this.

These twerps can cry "patriot" as much as they want, but this is a piece of shit OEM knife from China. The factory will do you any printing you want on the handle for a trivial upcharge. For instance, this looks an awful lot like the Top Quest T27019 (page 5, catalog here) or myriad other similar knockoff junk. The unit cost on this type of thing is about $2 each in bulk, for instance like this. Give me half an hour and I can probably figure out who the actual supplier is.

Some rat bastard is laughing all the way to the bank with these.

In case you were wondering, they are charging $69, while saying you're saving "$100+"

They're also saying it's a limited-stock item with only 150 ever made. Sure, buddy.

They're also selling a pack of crappy trump-themed memorabilia, a plane model, a blanket that's supposedly "Trump" themed but has no trump branding, and a crappy electric lighter I've seen thousands of on Aliexpress.

Sell 150 each of 100 very slightly different designs, claim they're all limited edition.

(Or, this being Trump, just outright lie and call it political interference when someone points it out)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 hours ago

It's a lie. There are thousands available. If you order and they are close to running out, they will have more made.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 hours ago

I see you've discovered boomer car culture.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 hours ago

If I had had the money in 2016, I would gladly be that rat bastard. It was obvious then that magtards would buy anything with dipshit's name on it, and you could easily slap a banner on your website that "10% of your purchase will be donated to conservative* causes." With a disclaimer that stipulates that conservative in this case is conservation or that it's net proceeds after costs, and include salaries and political donations in costs. Political donations in this case actually referring to planned parenthood or blue campaigns in battleground states.

Suck money out of idiots and put it to good use.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 10 hours ago

This just reminds me of Rwanda where right before the big one, they started distributing machetes which then were used to chop the opposition to death...

But of course trump wouldn't do that... Without trying to scam his own voters first, at least.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 hours ago

While this is odd given the current political landscape in America, pretty sure I remember Bush having knives and stuff too. Would see them at the local carry out when I was young.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 hours ago

"Patriot addict" = "Bad with money."

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 hours ago

The handle should be made of bone with knobby spurs on it large enough to make it uncomfortable to use.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Fwiw, I don't think the knife is directly affiliated with Trump; I think they just bought the ad space. I could be wrong though.

Also, that's not a combat knife. Thats a cheap no-name pocket knife.

Aaaaaand this pales in comparison to all the firearms you can find with Trump's face engraved on them.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 hours ago

And it would just fall apart when opened while someone tries using it during a riot.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 12 hours ago (3 children)

I mean I'm voting against Trump but the temptation to grift his followers is present in the back of my mind!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 10 hours ago

I won't lose any sleep over it. Thinking about spraypainting trump on some old pallet wood and selling them on etsy as 'patriot planks' for $150 a piece.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Go ahead. Keep some of the cash, donate some to a liberal cause. Don’t feel bad, they’re willing to tank an entire nation for their grift.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 hours ago

Oh no qualms about that just... grifting is a fair amount of work.

I’d say that this is America being beyond parody of itself seeing a presidential candidate’s speeches going full qvc, but we did once have a pyramid scheme selling racism that did wildly well

[–] [email protected] 5 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

Wild that everyone is focusing on the absurdity of selling knives, as opposed to the url being PatriotAddictDeals.com

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago

Lol. They call a zippo a snowflake lighter compared to this electric one.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 15 hours ago

Wait, fuck how are they so beyond parody‽ Fucking losers

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 hours ago

That's what I was going to point out. Beside that sounding like the most obvious scam domain ever, reading it at face value would indicate that the Republicans think their supporters are a bunch of addicts. Did they fire everyone with any marketing background or are they all so far down the rabbit hole that this sounds perfectly reasonable to them?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 21 hours ago

Step 1: call all Democrats pedophiles (pizzagate era) Step 2: claim election interference constantly to the point of mantra Step 3: stage practice coup d'etat (jan 6th) Step 4: sell weapons to your voter base, heavily implying that they are "addicts" Step 5: I sit on the toilet.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Is... Is this real? I can no longer tell from this side of the pond

[–] [email protected] 9 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Yes. America has well and truly become a parody of itself.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Wow, that's... well I don't even know how to respond

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe we should have just stuck with having a king if we were going to end up this way.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 hours ago

You can have ours if you want, he's a bit wet but at least he believes in environmental things, and I don't want him!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago)

I don't even know anymore and I'm over here.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Is a foldable combat knife a good idea? I'd think you'd want the blade to be fixed

[–] [email protected] 6 points 19 hours ago

Yes, one would normally prefer a fixed blade.

However, depending on local laws, that may not be possible to carry.

That reminds me, I'm moving soon, I need to check out some various laws for the new place.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Is that a "combat knife"? Cause it looks like the box cutter I use at work

[–] [email protected] 0 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I sincerely hope you are not using something like that as a box cutter, because it absolutely isn’t one.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago

I don't think it even qualifies as a knife. It's probably made of some sort of cheap stainless steel that goes dull if you sneeze at it.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 20 hours ago

Little bit of Insider Baseball on knives. Anytime a knife doesn't list the blade steel, I assume we're looking at 7Cr17MOV, 440C, or D2 with a bad heat treat. That price point is quite a bit higher than these cheap Chinese steels. Just another "True Patriot" grift. Pocket knives are cool tools and there are a slew of American brands that won't break by cutting into cardboard. These Trump Combat Knives will last a couple months maybe.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

Trump and his family of billionaires are also launching a cryptocurrency as final bid to grift as much as possible before he, hopefully, loses and they all become irrelevant forever

[–] [email protected] 4 points 20 hours ago

hopefully, loses and they all become irrelevant forever

That's what I was hoping in 2020. It seems the slow steady progress of time will have to take care of it.
