Welcome to our virtual third place, The Café.

Come on in and make a new human connection over a cup of coffee (or Teh Tarik). This is a casual community, do whatever you want, share your oyen pics, your frustrations, and even organize a weekend picnic with the community. The world is your oyster.

Rules are simple, be kind and civil with each other. As with any other café, rude patrons will be kicked out.

Yeah, people tend to browse with "all" to see more content, but unlike Reddit, c/cafe doesn't comes with country identifier like r/malaysians does, so no one will think twice about answering your question since it's also pretty general.

Same thing with my watermelon post which get a tons of views, upvotes, and comment from lemmyverse and people from different country. The tone is a bit different than what we always get from monyet.cc, and the advice is not malaysia climate specific.

I originally create c/food for us msians and monyet.cc, but lately i got a few people not from msia posting on it. This two case got me thinking.

Which I think it's good in a sense. We're no doubt a Malaysian-centric instance, but it's not like our rule specifies against it. Any user traffic is good I guess.

Thinking of going out to look for Japanese clothing this weekend for the bon odori event.

Any recommended place for those stuff? Preferably thrift stores. Ain't gonna use them often.
