I'm sorry that you're getting buffeted by the weird nerds, but I'm glad you're here!

@o7___o7 Thank you! I enjoy the indie web far more. Thank you for your words!

fuckin yes

The reason not to leave Patreon is how many subscribers are rusted-on legacy payers. I saw one example of a Patreon user who moved their patreon just to another patreon with different features and they lost several hundred dollars a month.

it suuuuucks

@dgerard Bingo! It’s actually incredibly hard to make our audience move with us, and also, this as well. See this link https://tweesecake.social/@weirdwriter/112953152861782587

oh good, Siderea is excellent and an accomplished bureaucracy warrior, I'll take her tips on this

thinking of a big notice on my page DO NOT SIGN UP VIA THE IPHONE APP but will also ask Patreon for creators to be able to disable the iOS app

This was a long anti-tech rant that somehow neglected to mention what their actual issue was and forced me to dive into the links just to get the necessary context to understand what they were talking about. TLDR: Patreon's moving over to subscription-only and dropping their per-creation billing system because Apple is forcing them to.

This was a long anti-tech rant

do you even know where you're posting?

that somehow neglected to mention what their actual issue was

ah yes, their "actual issue". definitely an enigmatic mystery not surmised by the literal post title or a significant amount of context placed in exposition throughout the first part of the post, absolutely ineffable!

go work on your reading comprehension. and maybe also realize that the world isn't composed of single-issue considerations. or don't! you're free to continue being a clown

in their previous comments:

This isn’t lemmy, this is a specific community. And your argument brings us back to the whole issue between mods and community members.

ya don't fuckin say, imagine if you were expected to know what a community was for before commenting

quelle goddamn surprise, eh

(I’m surprised you got that far. I glanced but the weird rants about late-night tv shows and shit ejected me early)
