Yeah this video is a load of shit.

Mangers exist because it's more efficient to give one person a task and have them delegate it to their subordinates than to do that yourself. The manager can also filter out useless information so higher ups only get need to know info. That's it.

The one word I was expecting to hear in this video which was completely missing was "Leadership". A manager is almost always in a role of leadership. The video's creator seems to suggest managers are a recent invention (within the last 120 years or so). Is the video's creator just using word play to suggest that there weren't middle level leaders besides the very top level of owner?

Without a leader, who determines what needs to be done next? To whom is responsible for making sure the resources are properly acquired for the people doing the work? Is the video's creator suggesting that each worker is 100% responsible for acquiring their own materials, tasks, and getting direction from the owner of the company?

These statements are not in defense of all managers/leaders. There is a HUGE number of people that are in management/leadership roles that have no business being there either because of their own incompetence or sociopathy. Holding the title of manager or leader does nothing to imbue the skills necessary for the job to the person. Good leaders understand that they only succeed when those they lead are empowered, supported, and protected from internal and external dangers. A good leader understands that very frequently they, the leader, is the least important person on the team.

@[email protected]

if you want to watch this, keep in mind that it’s made by a tankie.

What do you mean by this? Could you kindly explain what that term means to you, and why it is relevant to this discourse?

(I use this reply format to prevent my replies from being removed if/when the comment that I’m replying to is deleted by the creator.)

Is this because the conversation you are about to have is so insane that it has become a problem that people would rather delete their comments than keep talking to you? If you want to talk you reply to my comment.

I wouldn't presume to know why they delete their comments, but I think that the reason many people delete comments is for image purposes, such as regretting saying something or being embarrassed and not wanting it to be seen by others.

Edit: missed a word

I think I know why. Anyway, a proper reply is waiting by my comment. All you need to do is reply to that.

I'm curious. If you think you know why, would you kindly share your thoughts?
