A word of caution!

If you are interested in this book, as I am, and you follow the instructions in the video to get the ebook directly from @Stoic.XMR, be prepared to loose some money. Here is my story: I went to the web page (https://monerostandard.com/), ordered the book and paid in XMR, following all the instructions and displayed QR code. The transaction went through. I got an email as acknowledgement for the order. I was waiting for the delivery of the ebook, but the next day, I got another email, stating that the order had expired. I checked the XMR transaction and the funds had arrived at the destination wallet as shown on the order page minutes after I send the transaction out.

I wrote a letter to Michael and asking for clarification. No response. A day later I wrote another letter, asking for an explanation as to what happened. Again, no response. This all happened starting on 08/22/2023. I have given up any hope that I get a response back, leave alone getting the book. That web site looks like a honey pot to me. If you use it, be prepared to loose your money.

Last I checked everything was in pre-order, you weren't supposed to receive anything yet from what I understand. Maybe the expiration message was an automation glitch or something?

Well, one can hope and maybe someday I will get that ebook.

However, if somebody set up an online shop, accept payments and a customer asked about whats going on because he things there is something going wrong and then there is no response, that's beyond rude. That's deception at least.

Money has been accepted and taken and nothing has been given in return. What do you call that?

You're absolutely right. I'm just saying give it another week or so, near release things can get out of hand quickly. And post back whatever the outcome, I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking of pre-ordering before reading your post.

I'm surprised Monero isn't part of the new mainstream rightist thinking. For all they go on about Freedom of Speech, deplatforming, debanking, social credit scores and ESG, you'd think they'd all be heavily advocating for Monero. Lack of technical competency, I guess?

Same for any leftist that cares about the working class. But for some reason stable money as a benefit to the working class has been completely poisoned as a concept on the left. I always get angry comments about how that is stupid it was tax cuts or something, not the money printer and interest rate manipulation. Probably because libertarians are saying stable money good, so it must be bad, I guess?

I think it is breaking through slowly. Blockchain is so different to anything that it really takes some deep understanding to realize what is even going on. Then on top of that you have Monero.

Most people still have no clue what Bitcoin is, they are still a decade off on Monero.

Honestly if only the new media would understand and advocate for it, people would quickly come around. If Rogan or TYT talked about it regularly, people would quickly get it.

I do not think the dominant "new" media is interested in topics of real freedom and sovereignty. It is just a re-brand of the old media with an edgy twist.

Unfortunately something like Monero will have to rise mostly by word of mouth.
