Hello fellow Bloom County fans!

About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

Bloom County is an American comic strip by Berkeley Breathed which originally ran from December 8, 1980, until August 6, 1989. It examined events in politics and culture through the viewpoint of a fanciful small town in Middle America, where children often have adult personalities and vocabularies and where animals can talk. On July 12, 2015, Breathed started drawing Bloom County again. The first revived strip was published via Facebook on July 13, 2015... Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloom_County

Thanks for reading this post and be sure to join the community if you haven't already!

I started several comic strip communities for some of my favorite comic strips and one of those is Bloom County.

One of the points of the these communities is to enjoy the comics in the way they were originally released, which is on a daily basis. The first BC comic was released on December 8, 1980 and so I will be posting it on 12-8-23.

Feel free to contribute to the community with art, cool stuff about the author, tattoos, toys and anything else, as long it’s Bloom County!

A little late to the party, but this is awesome! Bloom County was one of my favorite cartoons of all time... something about Berkeley's sense of humor just hits me in the right spot.

Besides, who wouldn't want an X-15 cruise basselope?

This is awesome and I’m looking forward to reliving the joy that is Bloom County!

I love the countdown posts, but will riot if Bill the Cat is not included in the final lead up as he is my spirit animal 🤟😂❤️

I can guarantee Bill makes a few appearances in the countdown.

A bit off topic, but what is the purpose of all these alternate accounts? Also I am a bit curious about the reason for the test posts.

Back on topic, good luck with these comic communities and I will gather some dandelions in preparation for December 8th.

Awesome on the dandelion prep and stay tuned!!!

In short I created the alternate accounts for those just incase shit happens days. The long story is the Lemmy instance I started with was getting slammed with new signups and other server hiccups that were taking it down for small periods of time. With the nature of Lemmy and the Fediverse, it just made sense to have a few accounts. That way if any instance ever go down for a bit or forever I have alternates. I have three on Lemmy and one on Kbin. It's probably a bit overkill, but what the hey.

Lastly the test posts are for adding all my accounts as mods to the community. It's a bit confusing why it's setup this way on Lemmy, but you have to make a comment on the community, then you can be added as a mod.
