It was recommended to me and I'm glad I went with it. It's just about perfect for this pistol

What is the footprint on it? I’m still trying to wrap my head around the non-standardized world of pistol optic mounts.

Doctor/Noblex is what the internet says. The pistol came with a pic rail like the one you see the light attached to, and the optic came with a pic rail mount so I didn't put much thought into the footprint when I bought the sight

Almost looks like a Star Wars blaster with the attachments. I've never seen a Luger with anything on it before (hell, I don't think I've seen a modern one period; I'm used to seeing them in WW2 stuff). That's pretty cool.

Lugers are the WW2 pistol used by the Germans. I had the pleasure of firing one some relatives had that was mismatched enough to not be kept strictly as a collectors item. They eject the casings straight up which is interesting. Also not easy to take down and clean by today's standards. I can see why soldiers struggled with those in field conditions.

Ruger, the company, has nothing to do with them as far as I can tell. These pistols are designed from the Nambu pistol the Japanese used. The company owner brought one back after the war and referenced it when making these. Ruger pistols have been around for many decades and they make the incredibly popular 10/22 rifles too

Don't worry it confused me too when I first started researching these!

Anyway yeah I agree it does have a blaster vibe and I want to run tracers through it one evening for fun. It also would be right at home in a Metal Gear game!

So Ruger did not make the Luger? I always called it the "Ruger Luger." 🤣

Their guns look pretty similar.

Nope! They do look alike so it's easy to link the two
