I mean, really, MLB is doing everything in their power to stop me from watching any game at all. The clock rules made the game more dynamic and enjoyable, but nonsense like this is unacceptable. This is not the first instance during the season.

So tackling is going to be a thing, whatever it takes to push them off the bag is legal now. Stupid

Yep, unless MLB comes out with a correction/memo, the precedent has been set.

Based on what she says in this video, because the umpire on the field didn't indicate that he was safe because of being pushed off the base, the replay officials considered that they were to determine if the player was ever off the base and being tagged, because the push off rule is a judgement call and can't be challenged.

If that's the case, then the Guardians are penalized because the umpire on the field made that technical mistake, which is exactly the whole purpose of replay in the first place.

Hopefully umps can learn from this and be sure to indicate that the player is safe because of the push-off rule to avoid it being challenged and overturned, which will prevent the tackling/intentional push tactic from becoming normalized. But stuff like this is just so unfortunate for baseball.

Edit: A similar play in NCAA: https://youtu.be/8CRewLrMm5A

Or they can stop letting a hammered Angel Hernandez make calls from New York.

This is what happens when you allow absolute pedants to make calls. Between this and the idiot calls about home plate "blocking" it's clear someone in NY is more concerned with rulebook masturbation than they are with making sense.

Every single ump needs to be fired as a warning to the new hires.
