Allow me to ask a Q in order to answer that: which part of the FromSoft DS titles do you feel drawn to? The game in question has some alerts and not others.
I like the environment and dark settings the most I think? If I had to say... yeah it would be the grim dark tone and environments.
How orthodox in terms of gameplay are you looking for? I ask because there are some vibe similar gameplay different games I might rec.
I mean it doesn't have to like follow the formula completely. Any sort of similar vibe is cool.
Have you played Vampyr?
Nah but I was looking out that. I have a playstation plus subscription and it's one of the free games in the catalouge right now.
Might as well give it a shot and download it.
I’m telling you buddy, it’s a damn good game.
I k kw instinct might say go vampire mode first, but the hard as fuck “resist vampirism” play through is incredibly worth it.
Yeah it comes with my subscription. I'll check it out tonight. I like rpgs at any rate.
Been wanting a nice double a game for awhile
If enjoy period prices you are going to have a fun time.
I love the victorian aesthetic.. so I'm sure I'll at least have some sort of fun with it
I think it is genuinely excellent, imho it's a game that will appeal to you if you liked dark souls 1 more than the others.
Exploration is challenging, checkpoints are rarer, you have to be patient and observant or you'll get ganged up on. Boss fights are easy and it's quite possible to break the game wide open with some builds.
It's the only non fromsoft version of "the fromsoftware game" that has a proper interconnected world that actually makes sense (for a fantasy world) and informs you as to what to expect based on logical deductions about the environment.
If you prefer games that clearly explain everything, give you many checkpoints, and focus on the action rather than exploration and RPG then you will probably find it tedious, plodding, trivial, and confusing.
