Lots of electric vehicles introduced this year with very aspirational prices and range. Cool if true, but I'm skeptical. We will see.

I could care less about new ev prices. I'm watching the used EV market for a cheap older EV with limited range to putt around town. I don't need it to go 500 miles. Even 100 is enough for my day to day needs.
I can already buy a cheap BMW i3 for under $15k. But damn they are ugly as sin. I also don't want a Tesla. So my options for a used EV are pretty slim right now.
Still, in a few years there will be a ton of cheap EV's with limited range
With Chademo clearly a dead connector, a leaf may be a good bet. As long as the home charger is ok, it seems like a great grocery car. Tho, should be mentioned that a bakfiets would also be a good idea of there's bike lanes between your house and the grocery store.
Prices on these need to be lower on a base model if they really want sales.
I would be concerned about that retreating rear gate getting scratched by debris stuck in-between the slot.
That has to be a heavily subsidized price.
Their business plan is probably to hide the true cost for as long as they can simply to build marketshare, and then they probably hope that by the time their venture capital money is nearly depleted, battery prices will have come down enough to where they won't be losing their shirt on every vehicle they sell.
That seems to be the general business plan for a lot of silicon valley companies in recent years, and not just EV car companies either.
Their cars are assembled by Magna. Magna can probably save them a lot of money due to how many car makers already rely on their product solutions and manufacturing capabilities.
Yeah but Magna isn't a low cost manufacturer. The Ocean will be built in Austria. It will save them some money versus building their own factories, but it's not like it's built in China. To hit those prices that they claim, they are literally losing money on every unit and just burning through that VC money instead.
