Just had a shower thought.

As Twitter now requires a login and Google is apparently de-listing most search results for Twitter, it technically qualifies as a dark web website, something the media and Hollywood love to throw around as a scary phrase.

(It seems users still show up in Google and also some tweets, I just wanted to hear your opinions)

I think technically it would be referred to “Deep Web” which is the same level as financial records and medical records, stuff that is unlisted and requires a l login to access. It’s where (according to some iceberg graphics i found) 90% of the Internet’s days is found.

More like the "Dim Web". ;-)

Love it! Submitted the phrase to urban dictionary:

Akin to its sister phrases the Deep Web and Dark Web, the Dim Web refers to the parts of the Internet hosted on social media sites that have completed their process of enshittification.

These websites are usually devoid of original thought or content and only the dimmest users remain. The sites also often require the user to log in to view any content to maximise user tracking and profits.

I think it would be more of deep web than dark web. Dark web traditionally refers to TOR and onion services.

But yes, that would technically be a deep web website, as hilarious that is xD

No. It's becoming a walled garden.

Twitter is just a mix of loud influencers with huge followers that normal people try to reply to and then a ton of bots with pics of hot girls following your posts trying to get you to click something. I've never had a normal response to anything I've ever commented on Twitter so I've deleted it
