Sites are especially hostile to Librewolf because they can't use the HTML5 canvas and JS against you to identify you

Yea, bit of a pain but it's worth the results

I use librewolf with all data set to be destroyed on close.

With uMatrix. Meme should be Neo, for real.

What is your opinion on firefox?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago

It lacks some privacy features and sends back telemetry. It also prompts you to sign in which annoys me to no end.

I mean, that's literally the entire point of LibreWolf, isn't it?

Depends. If the meme is about sites with user accounts, sure. If it’s about “prove you’re not a DDOS” cloudflare crap and identifying photos of traffic lights before being able to get to static sites, then it’s an annoying side effect.

There is a 99% chance that Google and these companies are weaponizing this due to the threat to their business models.

I think logging you out of websites every time you close the browser is overkill. It's already better for privacy than Google Chrome. I had to change some settings in LibreWolf, so it's all good now. But you still have to login to your accounts, which gave me the idea to make this meme

I thought librewolf specifically doesn't store cookies? If they don't store cookies how would you propose they keep you logged in?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You're right that, by default, LibreWolf deletes your browsing history, cache, etcetera every time you exit. But this can be changed in the settings. Personally I'm looking for a more private browser but I don't need it to go that far.

Going the route of deleting all of that on close is sorta like using a nuke when a scalpel would have sufficed.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago

Perfect analogy. It truly is the nuclear option.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago

It wipes cookies on close.

Cloudflare can be a pain sometimes when I'm using qutebrowser, but surprisingly I don't have much issues with it besides that. I highly recommend it, if you're looking for a keyboard-driven and an easy customizable browser!

Best viewed on...any browser that supports open standards.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

Nothing wrong with that...
