I disagree. I really enjoyed it. Nic Cage was giving a great Nic Cage performance and I liked the whole idea of the Dracula's relationship with his servant is just like an abusive relationship.
Plus, I'm a sucker for over the top gore.
I think my experience was mixed. The cop/mafia plot felt a bit like a video game plot, and not in a good way. Nic Cage and the guy playing renfield gave great performances though, and yeah I really liked the abusive relationship dynamic.
Yeah same.
Nicholas Hoult played Renfield. He was in those X-Men new class movies. But he was really good in The Menu. I think he's going to be a stand out character actor.
The best part of it was seeing how much fun Nick Cage looked like he was having.
Dude really likes vampires I guess!
Yeah I liked the hell out of that part. The end of the movie kinda fell down badly though.
But! It's ok, I had fun.
It had good parts but also seemed hackneyed at times. Overall I'd give it a 6 - a 7 if I turn my brain off.
I really enjoyed the action sequences especially at the apartment complex where Renfield is beating people to death with the cops arms
