I had a friend who took a bunch of advanced bio courses in college and we got really drunk one night and he started talking about this and started a running joke where everything was botanically fruit. So, like, rocks, squirrels, pizza parties, all of them were "fruit."

He said "everything is fruit," so we started thinking of whatever we could and asking him if it was fruit, and he committed to the bit.
