Sorry for the downtime, the server has been moved onto better infrastructure so hopefully it won't go down as frequently in the future

Whenever you decide to upgrade to 0.18.x could you give advanced notice of when the upgrade will happen so if people can't get on during the process there will reason to be concerned?

Yes of course, originally I planned to do this server move with a bit less "bang" but the server crashed for the... 4th time this weekend, so it was more of a "Fuck it let's do this" sort of thing.

I planned a page to show progress and everything, but never got the time to deploy it :')

Was it from a hardware failure or an OS issue? What caused it? Which OS are you running Lemmy on?

Pretty sure Lemmy has a memory leak, it'll eat all the memory of the server and need a reboot. This was with 8GB of RAM as well, but hopefully getting it updated to 0.18.x will fix that (but I heard there's an issue with XSS at the moment so I'm holding back)

Is it specifically a Lemmy issue or would running on 16GB help to allow all of the processes to run at full capacity?

It seems to be a Lemmy issue, I'm pretty sure it would eat 16GB as well :) but possibly fixed in 18.x so I'm going to wait for that upgrade first
