The Alberta government is launching a $7-million advertising campaign in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in what it says is an effort to throw cold water on the federal government's plan to implement an emissions cap on the oil and gas sector.

I don't like that the conservative party is using provincial funds to advertise for their political views -- especially with advertisements which aren't rigorously truthful. It feels slimy, but does anyone know if this is legal?

That's a good point. They're spending our tax dollars on political advertising. I'm also wondering if its spending money outside provincial jurisdiction and whether that is legal.
