New processor with higher number beats older one with lower number. In other news, new day has higher number than previous day!

Yes, but 9000 non-x3d did not beat the older version and arguably was worse in some games.

I mostly mock the stupid "obsolete". Even if it beats it, it will cost more and is less available.

That is also also not surprising. X3D cpus have been pretty strong for games. The regular processors are for people who do not need gaming performance.
