@[email protected] As a photographer said "the best zoom is your legs" Primes are great unless your legs can't get you there then use a zoom

@[email protected] hahaha I'm really learning all about that maxim now - but it's a small price to pay for my style of photography (so I'm really looking for the form factor more than anything else as I do more street, hobbyist, and travel shots). That said, I keep hearing about the upcoming Panasonic 18-40mm lens (and on this Lumix cam I can add on hybrid zoom) so I guess I'm saving money for that one!

@[email protected] ahhhh what a cute cat!! Re: lens - this one is the Sigma 45mm so it's set at F2.8 - I'm still learning how to really take advantage of it on the fly, esp as I like setting my cam on Aperture priority. Got a few good shots with really nice bokeh but they're with irl ppl lol

@[email protected] the more manual the setting the more you control what you get f stop for portraits (including cat ones) should be set low - a scene though set it higher so everything is in focus

@[email protected] good point! That said I'm not really going for maximum separation of subjects most of the times, but I am definitely trying to get used to not wanting clarity for all parts of the frame 😂

@[email protected] well main thing is experiment (digital is great for that) and you learn as go and get what YOU want from it
