I know a lot of people love Alamo Drafthouse, but my experiences with the one south of downtown Dallas were never great.

Just experienced my first Draft House in Boston. Loved it. Very good selection of beer, including a couple of top local breweries. Full liquor bar. And the popcorn, oh my, that popcorn. I had the most movie popcorn during the show than ever before... that tossed in clarified butter was heavenly.

And a great location. It's 50' from a public transit stop. Nice.

Your experience sounds much better than mine! The handful of times I went to the one in Dallas, the food wasn’t great and the entire building had an unpleasant smell to it.

Working in a restaurant for years, the smell reminded me of old sanitizer that had been used much longer than it was intended.

Ewww, I was very happy with it. As far as I'm concerned it'll be my "go to" movie house. It's also a 2 minute walk to one of the top breweries in New England, Trillium.

Except for IMAX. The biggest of New England is less than an hour away in Providence.

Man, that sounds terrible. I went to one in GA once and it was great. Hopefully the ones that are closing are the ones that suck.
