I plan on getting 280mm and 120mm water cooling system for my cpu and am wondering if there is any way to combine the two systems for cooling the cpu (I’m doing two separate aios because of space and needing air cooling)

Hey all,

I currently have an X99 build and I'm upgrading to AM5 and was wondering if I could reuse my current water block.

My current water block is the EKWB Supremacy Evo https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-supremacy-evo-white-edition?srsltid=AfmBOoqTFBJBK8VsAWo6DYLE5ha2uiIVR7ssdjjENkIyE1mO2IVOtk0R

I was wondering if I bought an AM4 backplate like below whether this would support AM5 https://www.docmicro.com/en/waterblocks_cpu-waterblock-mounting_EK-Supremacy-EVO-Backplate-(LGA-115x,-AM4)_14749.html?srsltid=AfmBOoowe_3eM-IDzShHshZU6EatWcDQSB-oaoXbN-8PInXdnC-TmoNs

Also, is it even worth it? I don't know if water block technology has improved that much over the last year. Just trying to save myself £70 on a new water block.

Hi folks,

I managed to source EKWB ZMT tubing and was quite happy about not having to replace all my fittings, and when the package arrived today I thought the tubing looked a bit too small. I measured it, and true enough, it's 10mm ID. Contacted the seller, and that was the last they had in stock. They offered me a refund, but they don't have any ZMT left in any size.

I've tried to force it on to the 7/16" fittings and it's a very tight fit. It works, but putting the compression fitting over the tubing is much more difficult, and I'm afraid it would just rotate the G1/4 size and eventually break the fitting on the block before I get it closed. Having said that, it doesn't come off easily, so I could just loosely close the compression fitting and leave it like that.

There are no markings on the tubing except "EKWB". I've measured 10.01mm ID. When I measured my Primochill tubing which is supposedly the same size, I get 11.12mm, which is what 7/16" is supposed to be. I know that EKWB makes a 10/16mm ZMT tubing as well, so I figure they just sent me the wrong one, honest mistake, but no chance to get the correct tubing.

Is anyone running 10/16mm tubing over 7/16" fittings? I don't know if it will break in the long run. Not sure whether to go back to my old tubing, or keep this and hope for the best.

Sorry for the dumb questions - I need to replace my EK DDC 4.2 pump for my EK-Quantum Kinetic FLT 120. Its the one with the SATA power connection. Do any of the available DDC pumps work from other manufacturers or do I need to find a direct replacement (which seems to be unavailable everywhere)?

This is the second one I have had to replace (previously EK was still available) - should I switch to a D5? Is that even possible without a new reservoir?

Hello, I have recently built a new pc with a artic freezer 420 and its almost been a month since then and now i've noticed that the pump is making a clicking noise of some kind. It is rapid and I have restarted my pc a few times and it doesn't go away. I tried leaving the pump at full speed to see if there was some air traped but it hasn't changed.

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

I recently rebuilt my pc new cpu and gpu blocks and flushed the existing radiators with distilled water i did have red coolant in it before ran for years no issue.

I'm using Liquid.cool CFX Pre Mix Opaque Performance Coolant - 1000ml - Ghost White coolant, it claims it doesn't use particles and is only liquid. Now and it worked fine for about a week now my d5 which is quite old but showing no signed of issues before this upgrade is not starting.

It happened yesterday I drained took the pump out and the impeller I couldn't rotate it, I removed it cleaned the pump put back together and it worked fine for hours. Wake up today and once again the pump won't start.

Is it really debris/dirt or has my d5 just decided to die exactly when I've done my upgrade?

Hi all! I'm looking to change my corsair h115i (mistake in the title), which is 280mm, for a 240mm AIO so it'll fit my new smaller PC case (Silverstone GD09).

What are your recommandation for a very silent 240mm AIO, compatible with LGA2066 to cool an i7-7820x? (I don't use RGB at all).

i am not from the U.S and a lot if not most of the coolers here are stupidly expensive and way out of budget, i came across Thermalright AIOs which i've heard many mixed opinions of

i'm contemplating either Aqua elite v3 or Frozen Prism(reviewed by Gamers Nexus) my main concern is endurance, and see how long it could last till i can afford a more quality AIO

any feedback would be highly appreciated

Hello quick question can you mount a slim rad (20-30ish mm) in front of the fan mounting bracket then mount the fans to the backside of said bracket.

Thanks!

I know on a traditional sealed AIO there are naturally pockets of air that can get trapped in the pump, but what about the alphacool unit since it can be filled and air bled thoroughly? I will be moving to a new case soon and would prefer to bottom mount the 360 but I don’t want to ask for problems either.

Had to use a drill and dremel to make edits to the case but everything fits nicely.

Is there a good reason to choose Mora 600 over 400 except for showing off and aesthetics? As far as I understand, Mora 400 can handle any modern gaming PC on low Fans and Pump setup, ultimately the ambient temp will be the bottleneck? Anyone with Mora 400 - do you consider upgrading to 600 or regret not getting 600?

Whats going on. Just finished a full custom loop (pics to follow) and have a quick question on CPU temp. My CPU is OC'd (PBO advanced, 10X, +200, -40 all cores) and just hit 90 briefly in an OCCT benchmark. It idles around 45 c. Anything to be worried about?

What's the better case for running a maximum number of internal rads?

I've been thinking of running the following setup in a V3000+, but really like the look of the Enthoo so I wanted to check with the experts here :)

The setup I am thinking of running,

  1. Five 360 rads
    1. 360 rad (38mm) on top. No fans will be cooled from the air rushing out the top
    2. 360 rad (50mm) in front. 3x Pull fans bringing cool air in
    3. Two 360 rads (35mm) in the bottom compartment. 6x Pull fans from the 2 sides, bringing cool air in.
    4. 360 rad (20mm thin) on the floor of the main compartment. NO fans, but will be cooled from the air coming up from the bottom compartment
  2. Two D5 pumps
  3. Res
  4. CPU, GPU and Chipset blocks

Can I fit this in the V3000+?

Will I be better served with the Enthoo Pro 2?

So, I've made a direct die frame out of titanium. I plan on using Kryosheet as TIM. Would type 1 anodising be enough to prevent shorts?
