Pretty much the title. I bought it on Ps5 even tho i have both RDR / RDR UN on ps3 since day one. Yeah absolutely bare minium effort from R* but rock solid 30 fps, 4k visuals and the platinum trophy without the trash ass multiplayer trophies it's not THAT bad.

Seeing it running on the steam deck not perfect but still playable day 1 on an emulator it's pretty impressive and shows again how emulators slowly become not only the best way to preserve games but also the best way to play some games overall over the original hardware. In a few months I'm pretty sure that the game will be at almost 100% solid 30 fps and on the deck begin able to play it on the go it's just unbelievable honestly.

I'm trying to install ubuntu on a usb drive. I'm not talking about liveusb or booting from usb. I want to install the os on a 256 Gb usb drive, so that it can be accessed as a portable system from any computer. Need a bootable usb to install it on a second usb stick. However I intend to use my computer as only Windows 11 pc.

My questions are:

  1. Should I unplug my Windows 11 SSD before I install the Ubuntu on a Usb stick? I read otherwise Ununtu will store the secure boot files in the Windows ESP partition.
  2. Will unplugging and plugging back Windows 11 drive cause any problem with the Windows installation?
  3. Ununtu supports secure boot as I read. However do I need to change the secure boot mode (curtently set to Windows only) or backup the keys? If yes, how?
  4. Do other variants of Ubuntu such as Xubuntu or Lubuntu also support Secure Boot?

Thanks.

Recentlty I noticed, that when I try to open second window (by moving tabs or normaly open another window), new one is white with some bookmarks icon visible though. It sometimes starts working normal after all but not always. I've tried different chromium based solution (chormium, chorme, even edge) and it happens on all of them. Have someone encountered similar problems or it's my machine configuration fault and should be looking to fix my system?

I'm sharing this because I couldn't neatly carry everything I wanted or needed to carry in the stock case, with the stock power adapter, and I think I got lucky with some accessory tetris from which others might benefit. I am pretty happy with my Steam Deck carrying case setup, but it's not 100% perfect: the battery is just a bit too big, and the deckmate clip or adhesive square don't help, but (almost) everything I want fits safely, if a bit snugly. I'm notably missing some earbuds.

I'm also sharing this because I'd like to know what your Steam Deck gear bag or carrying case setup looks like. Perhaps you also got lucky with your accessory purchases such that everything fits perfectly? If so, please share!

Pics:

Gear List:

Case: Annapro (Toennesen?) case

Battery: Baseus 65W Note: this one looks wider & slimmer than mine, but the dimensions listed on the page match mine.

Charger: Anker 65W Nano II

Cable: Whatever came with the baseus charger

Seems like the general consensus is that playing around with emulation and trying multiple games 10 minutes at a time.

What are some of the games that you completed through emulation on Steam Deck?

Hi!

I received my steam deck yesterday, and I can’t seem to hold a stable connection to my wifi for longer than maybe 30 minutes, but sometimes less than two minutes.

I’ve disabled ipv6 in the settings mode on the desktop mode, and disabled the wifi power management in the developer settings, but neither really changes anything. The only thing I can think off that I haven’t done is separating the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands into different SSIDs, but I’m not entirely sold on that working either. Is this how the Steam deck is supposed to be? Has anyone found a stable fix?

Just thought I'd share a thought I had. I love the Deck, super fun but thinking about the AAA titles being released it seems that maybe we're seeing the upper limits of what it's capable of. Jedi Survivor, whole optimized poorly, still has issues. Starfield will almost certainly run like other Bethesda games at launch and it seems BG3 is hampered with low FPS in certain areas.

We can't count on perfect optimization and low end CPU requirements. I'm thinking of seeing how Starfield runs when it's released and considering picking up an Ally depending on whether it looks like the Deck has the legs to play AAA games into 2024. That's more the type of gaming I like to do on the couch. I've been playing through CP2077 and NFS Heat.

Not everyone's cup of tea, I get that. Just thought I'd share my thoughts.

I was not sure that I would stick to the deck, I’m rarely playing console in the sofa, or at my desktop nowadays - feels like working - ( 40s and quite dense work life ).

The deck resurrected my gaming fun : enjoying the Witcher 3 in bed under a warm blanket is just magic.

Just showing my love for this surprising good device !

It used to require Internet to launch. Now it doesn't. Fantastic! Not sure about other rockstar titles. Pretty sure most all those still require an internet connection for the game launch. Doesn't matter. This is the only rockstar game I need.
