It looks like another MoE, 8x22b params and a sequence length of 65536 tokens.

Btw I don’t think it’s on ChatGPT yet so just respond if you used the new model via API

Does anyone else feel/fear that work won’t go away?

Jevon’s paradox is the observation that as you make things more available and efficient demand for those things goes UP.

Examples:

  • fuel efficiency advances in the 70s and 80s created the monster SUVs and Trucks of today full of features that use MORE fuel
  • The cotton gin was though to use cotton so efficiently that slavery would be abolished. INSTEAD it increased demand for slavery as demand surged for clothes

Humans a very energy efficient. And is a hyper abundant AI future, we may well want to work in gamified environments for fun or very little compensation. This may be enough to invent a bunch of bull shit jobs. Kind of a hyper version of what the Industrial Revolution did.

Thoughts?

I've noticing alot of anti-AI sentiments all over career centric sub. Like for instance, calling AI "a bubble" it seems.

Although I lean towards e/acc (or this sub), I'm still open to opinions yapped by these people. But tbh I definitely get the feeling they are somehow high on their copium when talking about AI and their careers.

Hello,

Since ChatGPT 3.5 released, one of the most common predictions is that blue collar labour will survive. The general advice young people get is to become a plumber or electrician, because AI will be able to do the theoretical problems involved in being an electrician, but it will be too hard to create the robotics and is needed.

And that might be the case. However, if AI can do the theoretical work, all that is needed is a human body that than execute AI-instructions. Then it seems that all that is needed is some sort of headset, through which the AI can scan the environment and then present instructions through some augmented glasses to a human. Then any(human)body will suffice to do the work, at least if the work does not require high amounts of dexterity like, I don't know, watchmakers, high end chef's, surgery, tailors etc. If that is the case, then it does not seem like more low-level dexterity manual work, e.g. plumbing, is such a safe bet at all?

What do you guys think?
